Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often return for the grilled chicken, praised as well seasoned and tender, usually served as a chicken box with a choice of two sides such as rice, potatoes or vegetables. The green sauce gets repeated mentions, though one reviewer prefers the free hot sauce. The Cuban sandwich, with pulled pork a touch on the sweet side, and a fried chicken hot sandwich are also mentioned, and portions are described as generous. Lunch queues are long, but several say they move quickly, with one noting the sandwich line is far slower than the chicken box line. The main complaints concern change and consistency. One reviewer says the menu update shrank the boxes and replaced broccoli and carrot with a fajita veg that looks sad, while another agrees the chicken has gone downhill and wants more caramelised skin. The fried chicken sandwich was a bit too dry for one diner. One reviewer who ordered at the wrong branch had the food remade with a smile.

“Not only has the food been standout and consistently amazing for a decade to me but you are also giving your money to a restaurant filled with kind staff and owners. Accidentally ordered for pickup at the wrong branch and after just eat not letting me cancel, without hesitation made me the food at this branch and did so with a smile on their face. This is the kind of place where you will want to come to again and again as well as telling all your friends about it.”

“Without a doubt, I would come back again. The experience was really good, and the amount of food compared to the price was pretty reasonable. The chicken was 10/10 — very well seasoned, and everything was delicious. The green sauce was also 10/10. I ordered rice with potatoes, and it was really good. The portion was very generous, especially the amount of chicken. The atmosphere was super pleasant, with Latin music playing, which made the experience even better. Also, all the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. At first, I was a little worried when I saw the line because it was quite long, but once I joined the queue, I realized it was moving very quickly. In fact, from the moment I joined the line until I left, it probably took around five to seven minutes, which I thought was amazing considering how many people were waiting. Overall, I would definitely come back. The food was really good, the portions were generous, the atmosphere was great, and the staff were super friendly. 10/10! I would absolutely recommend it to everyone.”

“If you’re after a satisfying meal without breaking the bank, Assenheims 56 is hard to beat. This no-frills rotisserie chicken spot has become something of a City institution, and it’s easy to see why. The star of the show is, of course, the rotisserie chicken—beautifully roasted with crispy, well-seasoned skin and tender, juicy meat that is packed with flavour. The meal deals are excellent value, especially considering the generous portions. Pair your chicken with sides like roast potatoes, rice, salad or seasonal vegetables, and you’ve got a hearty, comforting meal that feels homemade rather than fast food. Service is quick and efficient, making it an ideal option for a weekday lunch when you’re short on time but still want something fresh and satisfying. Simple food, generous portions and consistently good quality. Sometimes that’s all you need, and Assenheims 56 delivers exactly that.”

“A fantastic place for South American food. The chicken portions are really generous and the sandwich is very large overall. Straightforward service. Come here if you want to be satisfied. Finsbury Circus Gardens around the corner to eat!”

“Always a queue at assenheims 56, which serve south american style grill chicken. The currently menu that they are doing is 10.50 for 100g, 11.50 for 200g and 12.95 for 300g,and you can choose 2 sides. Personally i think its a good spot to get a big lunch as 12.95 for 300g chicken is not expensive! I saw other comments mentioned their chicken has gone down hill a bit and i agree, they should grill the chicken a bit more to get the caramelisation, so the skin itself will taste a bit better. The green sauce that they made is also nice. And the queue is always long.”
