Customer Review Summary
The bow dip burger, brisket topped and served with a pot of broth for dipping, is what the most enthusiastic reviewers return for, with the rib burger close behind and the big smac and pastrami burgers also praised as delicious and salty. The animal fries split opinion: one reviewer calls them the only tasty thing, another says they were dead. Reviewers also single out the banana pudding as a big portion to share. Price is the most common complaint, with several saying the portions are small or the fries not worth the cost, and one questioning the cost of a glass bottle of coke. Consistency is the other recurring problem. One reviewer says the brisket is drier on some days, another reports paid customisations ignored across several orders, and a third describes burgers that looked sat on and a rib portion of two large bones with hardly any meat. There is no indoor seating, so most eat in their cars or lean on barrels outside, and the half-price deal on selected items is repeatedly mentioned.

“Great burgers and great food. Only one piece of feedback for the team. You give your customers options to customise their orders, But you never follow through on the customisation. I used to order weekly, but I’ve ordered a few times now where I have removed something or added something in my burger and these options were just ignored (Although I had paid extra!). I no longer order from bun and sum because I don’t know what version of a burger I will receive. Especially when you’re ordering online, you are not the cheapest option So I do expect my order to be perfect. It’s just unfortunate that I’ve had several bad experiences.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐ Late Review – Decent Spot for Brisket/Burgers in East London I visited Bun&sum a while ago and have been meaning to leave this review since. The place may well have changed in appearance by now, but here’s my honest experience from that visit. I ordered the brisket burger with loaded fries and a drink. Overall the food was decent and satisfactory nothing spectacular, but it did the job. The brisket burger was okay with decent flavour, but I’ve had way better at other smokehouses and proper brisket spots around London. The loaded fries weren’t really that loaded (a bit light on the toppings), but they still tasted nice and crispy. Nothing to complain too strongly about, just not memorable enough to rave over. It’s a convenient spot if you’re in the Bow area and fancy something quick. The vibe is straightforward and no-frills. Address: Unit 4, Bow Triangle Business Centre, Eleanor St, London E3 4UR One thing to note is that parking is a real issue here. The area is quite cramped, so most people seem to eat outside or in their cars. That’s something to keep in mind if you’re driving. All in all, Bun&sum is a solid 4-star spot for a casual bite when you’re in the mood for burgers and fries. It won’t blow you away, but it’s decent enough and gets the job done. I’d consider popping back if I’m in the area again.”

“Does taste very good but for the price point it could be a bit more generous on the portions. Definitely one to tick off your try list Food.Glorious.fooood tiktok/insta”

“Finally got the chance to eat in at Bun n Sum Bow, and it’s a great addition to the experience. They currently offer 50% off selected items for collection, which is a nice bonus if you’re ordering out. The food itself is really tasty — everything we tried was full of flavour and well-prepared. It is a little on the pricey side, but the quality does justify it to an extent. Staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. Overall, definitely worth checking out, whether you’re dining in or grabbing a deal for takeaway.”

“There are mixed reviews but my experience was superb. I had two different burgers and animal fries and they were moist, well cooked, full of flavour and the sauce was very generous. Melt in the mouth style stuff, and the service was execellent. It's literally a little burger bar in a converted 20ft container but it works! (Plenty of eating adjacent)”
