Customer Review Summary

Live music is what reviewers raise most, with Saturday night sing-alongs and weekend bands described as great fun and at times world class. Close behind is the Thai kitchen, where diners mention Pad Thai and a green curry and call the food delicious and authentic. Pints draw steady praise as fairly priced, with local beers on tap and a creamy Guinness, and one reviewer calls it a proper pub with decent wine. Football is always showing, and one visitor watched a Newcastle and Liverpool match among a partisan crowd and found the pub well suited to live sport. A separate games room has darts and pool, and the front and back gardens, with heated booths, get repeated mentions. Staff are called friendly, polite and quick. On the downside, one reviewer regrets that proper ale is not served, and another found the Thai restaurant closed during their visit. One diner asked the chef to reduce the spice in the green curry, and it came out exactly as wanted.

“Definition of a great local's pub - pints are priced fairly, outdoor space front and back with heated booths for the colder nights - great bands every weekend and fantastic Thai kitchen with delicious authentic dishes - always showing the football - friendly staff - couldn't ask for more, a proper pub”

“Saturday night live music was such fun here and there were local pints on tap. For me a nice sing-song IS the true character of a London pub. We all miss the real Cockney places where there was a simple upright pianoforte and the regulars singing along. I’m ‘Scotch’ myself (Maryhill in north Glasgow) and this place is exactly the kind of proper ‘Laandan’ public house we all want to visit when we’re carrying on down here. It’s a solid, sound British pub carrying on the same good old traditions as all our good locals at home. Good on the staff and landlord for keeping it up to high standards this way. All the Cockneys should take note and come along, sing along, and give their support! Much love for a nice English pub from a Glaswegian!! 🍻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧”
