Customer Review Summary
Afternoon tea is what most reviewers come for, with the warm scone, sandwiches and cakes called tasty and the unlimited tea and coffee described as great value. One diner found the cakes and scones small but said that meant everything got eaten, and another wished for more variety in the sandwiches. Close behind is the staff, repeatedly called friendly and attentive, with servers refilling teas and coffees. The stylish interior draws praise as nicely decorated and good for photos. Reviewers also mention the grilled sea bream fillets, a coffee and croissant deal served fresh within minutes, a breakfast tea one called the best they had had, and two for one happy hour cocktails. The food and service draw sharper criticism from two reviewers. One describes a server who had to check the soup of the day, left empty plates on the table, and served pre-made bread and a sour, store-bought Caesar dressing. Another reports slow service, a forgotten part of the order, and a greasy, awful herby cod dish with creamy potato and pea. A quiet Monday night evening was described as having little atmosphere.

“The server was friendly but relatively unprofessional. While I was ordering, she ran off to the kitchen because she didn’t know what the soup of the day was. After the main course was served, she didn’t clear away the empty appetizer plate. After I finished eating, it took a very long time for her to clear away the empty plates. As for the food: The soup of the day was fine, but the bread served with it was pre-made and slightly underbaked. The greens in the Caesar salad were fresh, but the dressing was store-bought, mayonnaise-based, and very sour. I’m not sure, but I suspect the fried chicken on the salad was also pre-made.”

“Slow service, and then kept forgetting part of the order. The food was terrible. I had herby code which came with greasy creamy potato and pea thing. Awful.”

“We had a really nice afternoon tea here. The staff were so lovely and friendly, it was a very nice atmosphere. You get unlimited tea and coffee which is great value. The sandwiches, cakes, and scone were all very tasty, the only thing I wished was different was more variety of sandwiches or different. The restaurant itself looks beautiful, it is so nicely decorated. Lovely picture taking opportunities! Overall I really liked the place and the food was very tasty. There was good variety with the sweet treats and the scone was still warm and fresh.”

“Great afternoon tea. Cakes and scones were quite small but it meant we were able to eat everything 😋 Staff were attentive refilling teas and coffees.”
