About Ridley Road Market Bar
Ridley Road Market Bar is a bar in Dalston, London, at 49 Ridley Rd, that mixes a tropical bar with a 70s disco and a dance floor. The decor is tropical in style, and DJs play a rotating mix across disco, garage, soul, DNB, euro-pop and rockabilly. The drinks list covers cocktails, including Mojitos and a Gin & Blood Orange, alongside local beers and alcohol-free options. Slice Girls pizza is served for anyone who wants food with their drinks. The bar opens in the evenings from Tuesday to Saturday and closes on Mondays and Sundays, and the late hours suit a night out that runs on. Birthday parties, group bookings and private events are all part of what the team hosts. A queue forms at busy times.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers come mainly for the dancing, with DJs rotating through disco, house, garage, soul, DNB and euro-pop for a late-night crowd they call trendy and fun, mostly in their 20s to 40s. Mojitos and a gin and blood orange cocktail get named, and the kitsch tropical setting, Slice Girls pizza and pot sticker mapo tofu dumplings also draw praise. Reviewers mention no entrance fee and a smoking area outside. Weekends get packed, one reviewer suggests not arriving too late to avoid long queues, and another suggests checking the Instagram for what's on. Complaints cluster around two things. Two reviewers who usually enjoy the bar describe a Friday night where the DJ struggled to mix, left silences between tracks and played slow Christmas music at 3am while the crowd complained. The toilets draw criticism too: shared facilities with no urinals, a bouncer on the door, and a squeeze through the busy dance floor each time. One group's bags were stored behind the bar by staff.

“Usually I really like this bar. On Friday night (19/12) the DJ was e drunk/high, played the weirdest music, kept leaving to go bathroom, vibe was so weird and dead. If I’m paying money to go I don’t want the music to be so insanely bad. DJ couldn’t mix music, worst transitions (silences) and little fun dancing music. DJ literally played slow Xmas music at 3am. Crowd was complaining whole time. Weird. Can’t charge people for that sorry.”

“I’ve been to this bar before and really enjoyed myself but last night (19/12) I think i probably witnessed the worst DJ on earth. He was clearly off his head, didnt know how to read a room and played the worst music I ever heard. It almost seemed like he wasn’t being serious and was trying to get people to leave but some advice for this bar is to never get that guy behind the decks again.”

“Hip bar with great tunes and a good vibe. Younger crowd but fun all the same. Drinks are reasonable and the service is quick. The mens urinal is a hilarious 😂”

“Really good spot for a late night drink, very busy and stays open late - had a great time here. The bar staff stored our bags behind the bar which was a handy touch. Very trendy crowd throughout. Only negative I would say is that the toilet situation is quite poor, it’s shared facilities and there are no urinals here, bouncer on the toilet door making sure that no men push through.”
