About The Refinery
The Refinery is a bar and grill at 110 Southwark St in London, where drinks and food arrive on vintage tableware. Coloured deckchairs are set out in summer, adding seating that changes with the season. The cocktail list includes a strawberry margarita and St Germain cocktails, and the food menu offers a burger and fries. The team also hosts events and celebrations, from launch parties with a live saxophonist to occasions with canapés and a DJ. Christmas meal bookings are part of that calendar too. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring them along.

Customer Review Summary
Friendly, welcoming staff come up most, with several reviewers describing servers who pay attention to details and make guests feel looked after at events and ordinary visits. The food draws praise for the fish and chips with champagne sauce, the shrimp cocktail, chicken skewers, the rainbow bowl, pasta and canapés, while the strawberry margarita and St Germain cocktails stand out among the drinks. Reviewers also like the indoor and outdoor seating, including the patio. Complaints centre on food and value. One diner found the burger cold and tough, with a stale bun that fell apart. A Christmas group said the meals seemed reheated and the potatoes frozen, and that an off-tasting beer was replaced with a more expensive one. That group was also charged in full, with service, for two guests who could not attend, even though few tables were occupied. Others found the drinks expensive and the cocktails inconsistent, and one said the music was too loud to talk over. Launch parties and Wimbledon celebrations are remembered for a saxophonist playing for the crowd.

“We tried here on a Saturday afternoon and this place did not disappoint at all. Food was really nice, well presented and tasty in decent portion, defo value for money. The atmosphere is great with both indoor and outdoor seating available. Price was just right for the portion size and the food. Would recommend.”

“We came here for some drinks after work to toast a colleague that was leaving. We sat on the outside patio which is really nice beautifully decorated and the service was fairly quick considering it was very busy. I do think the drinks were quite expensive, and we noticed between us that the cocktails were quite inconsistent in how they were prepared, say some people enjoyed their drinks more than others. Overall, it’s a nice place though, and I would go back.”

“Such lovely and friendly staff! We were made to feel so welcome and happy to enjoy the celebration of The Refinery and Wimbledon. We enjoyed some delicious pasta, canapés and prosecco. I won’t forget to mention the Tremana strawberry margarita - exquisite! A fab saxophonist serenaded the customers. Very happy. Thank you all.”

“I recently attended an event at The Refinery Bankside, and I couldn't recommend it more. The food was absolutely amazing, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the service from start to finish was excellent. A special thank you to Maria, the manager, who really looked after us and made sure everything ran smoothly. She went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. The venue itself is beautiful, especially the indoor-outdoor space, which creates such a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere. It's spacious, stylish, and the perfect place to enjoy good food, drinks, and great company. If you're looking for somewhere to eat, socialise, or simply soak up the atmosphere in the Bankside/Southwark area, I highly recommend The Refinery Bankside. Fantastic food, wonderful staff, and an all-round brilliant venue. We'll definitely be back!”
