Customer Review Summary
The home cooked food is the clear draw at this pub, with reviewers repeatedly describing meals as fresh, plentiful, and excellent value. Several single out specific dishes by name, including the curry, the lasagne with heavily buttered garlic bread, and a 10oz rump steak cooked medium rare, while one repeat visitor highlights the minted lamb chops with sweet potato fries, mushrooms, grilled pollock with parsley sauce, mash, and garden peas. Sunday lunch earns its own mention for being piping hot and generous, with reviewers praising the desserts as well. The staff are described as friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and the pub itself is repeatedly called clean, including the toilets, with outdoor seating and dog friendly tables adding to the appeal. Reviewers note it gets busy in the evenings and one suggests booking ahead, while another was glad to be fitted in without a reservation. One reviewer reports a negative experience at the bar, describing being told the bartender did not care when a requested drink was unavailable, an account that stands in contrast to the otherwise warm service described across visits.

“Asked for Tia Maria , disranno and Malibu did not have any and the bartender said he didn’t care. I feel like Malibu is a staple in any pub ? We will not be visiting this pub anymore when they don’t even care about people’s choices of drinks. He didn’t even apologize and say oh sorry we are out just said I don’t care so🙄 sorry but hopefully no one else wastes their time here 😒”

“Second time to visit and eat at this wonderful place, I can Highly recommend The Minted Lamb Chops , Sweet Potato Fries, Mushrooms, and The Grilled Fish(Pollock) with Parsley Sauce, Mash, Garden Peas, every item on the plate was the tastiest I've ever eaten., Staff excellent, Cleanliness excellent, you can just walk in, be aware that the last afternoon food order is 2.20pm(you can still order a drink and sit in) thankfully the staff checked with chef if they could still serve us food(we arrived at 2.15) and they kindly did❤️, they start serving food again at 5pm.. I can't wait to go there again and try another excellent meal. Love it!!”
