About Lazeez Restaurant

Lazeez Restaurant is a Middle Eastern restaurant at 34-36 London Rd in Liverpool, cooking Kurdish food with a focus on grilled meats. The kebab list includes shish kebab and a grilled Kurdish kebab, and lamb chops sit alongside it. The combined meals come with rice, meat, salad and soup, and fresh naan arrives with the meal. A complimentary starter soup opens the table, and a "2 person meat special" set meal is built for sharing between two. Falafel and seafood are also on the menu for those who want something beyond the grill. All of the food is halal. Ayran is on the drinks list.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often point to value, with generous portions of grilled meat, rice, and salad that several call fresh and tasty. The two person meat special and the lamb chops draw specific praise, and a complimentary starter soup, fresh naan, and friendly, knowledgeable staff come up close behind. One group of nine describes fast service and big portions. Others describe a very different meal. Complaints include chicken that was not fully cooked, a dry chicken kebab, tasteless lamb, and a shish kebab one diner said was not really a kebab. One reviewer says the combination plates cost more than ordering the same items separately, and another calls the portions small for the price. Hygiene comes up as well: unclean glasses, a dirty bread container, and one report of lamb handled with bare hands. One reviewer reports their daughter vomited after a grilled Kurdish kebab full of cartilage. A returning diner found the lamb chops burned on a later visit. When cold rice was sent back, staff replaced it without argument.

“As an Iranian who knows Persian restaurants/food: at first when I entered the restaurant I was excited and expected a good meal but then ... they charged extra for "customer format" (like a combinations of food you wish to eat) food! Which if you wanted to buy separately, it would be cheaper! The food was not that good. The chicken kebab was dry and shish kebab was not even a kebab! The server was good and knew and explained the menu very well. Overall, at first I thought I'd bring more people in this place, but then, I wouldn't even go there myself!”

“Absolutely perfect, fantastic lamb chops, and all the rest UPD 23 August 2026 today was not so brilliant: chops were burned and not tasty. Lost service.”

“Absolutely amazing staff & service. We were visiting Liverpool and were unable to do the check in process in a hotel nearby and our phone died. Thankfully coming to charcoal grill was our best decision. The staff helped with charging our phone and gave the best dining experience. Thank you so much, we greatly appreciate your help.”

“After a long day of traveling, we decided to stop by for dinner and searched for a Halal spot in Liverpool. This was the first place that popped up, and it totally didn’t disappoint 👏. We were a group of 9, and the food was fresh, tasty, and super generous with the portions. The service was fast and friendly—highly recommend this place!”

“The staff were friendly, professional, and well-organized. However, when our food arrived, the rice was cold. We asked if they could replace it with hot rice, and they kindly did. Unfortunately, while replacing it, they handled the lamb with their bare hands, which completely put us off our meal. We were honestly very hungry, but despite that, we couldn’t eat it. We still paid the full bill out of respect for the staff, but to be honest, the food was not worth the money, and the overall experience was disappointing.”
