  “I didn't been to the place but my hubby went there. He told this place is a complete vibe, energetic. Food is awesome and ambience is amazing. I ordered paneer tikka naan and paneer bun. The sauce in paneer bun is so refreshing I think it was mustard sauce. Delicious food and also near to my place. Thank you.”

  “Great food fantastic service. Crispy aubergine, chilli paneer and jera chicken are particularly good dishes. Great to watch the footy as well. Edit: near the big screen on sun 28th june they had what looked like a football party. We were sat in front of it with friends and 4 kids when some rude idiot from the football party said our kids were being loud and they couldnt hear and told them to shoosh! In a resturant? Absolute idiots. Owners of what a shot , all business is not good business. I wasnt there but my wife had a word with them and Informed them our kids were on our side of the resturant and there were louder people there and besides its a flipping resturant! Honestly felt like these people were sad excused for humans picking on kids. Might think twice about what a shot now. As I said all business is not good business... food for thought!”

  “don’t get me wrong foods lovely but tried getting a pint 20 years old btw and when i went for the next one they didn’t serve me so i don’t get how that makes sense, hence the low service rating other than that it’s okay tbf”

  “Good food and atmosphere but sadly let down by one member of staff that was garnishing the dishes as they were coming out of the kitchen. Long black hair hanging over the hot food and no gloves on for placing garnishes. She seemed like she was in a bad mood, maybe one of the managers, looked like she was angry with the staff too and was wearing jeans and trainers.”

  “Visited What a Shot in Leicester and overall it has a really good atmosphere. The decor gives a high end, modern vibe and it is a nice place to chill whether you are in a small or larger group. There is a good selection of beers on tap and lots of screens around the venue which makes it great for watching sports. The staff were attentive, welcoming and provided really good service. It did feel like there was a higher staff to table ratio when we visited, which definitely worked in our favour, although most tables were clearly reserved for later on. There is also a Directors Lounge area where no children are allowed, which has a huge screen and feels like a more social adult space. Drinks were mixed. My husband wanted to order a Cobra as a pint, but the cocktail prices were too high for what they were. I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea which was pretty average and not worth the price at over £12. Pint prices in general felt on the higher side. Food was definitely average. The pickle tray comes with three poppadoms, but when ordering for two people you have to pay an extra 95p for a fourth poppadom which felt unnecessary. The poppadoms were fresh and decent. The onion bhajis tasted more like tater tots, very mushy in the middle with a crispy outside which was off putting. The paneer shashlik was okay but nothing special, very mild and lacking flavour. Overall the food felt slightly overrated. Accessibility could be an issue as the venue is on an upper floor with no lift access for wheelchairs or prams. Parking is available but as it is a large venue with multiple activities, I can imagine it gets very hectic at busy times. Overall, I would return for the atmosphere, vibe and drinks, but not for the food.”

  “Visted 1st time with fam (2 adults @ kid) for a birthday. Food portions good. Mixed grills spicy but tasty. Not the cheapest place but bills have to be paid for size of venue. Had 2 veg starters , 5 drinks, 2 grills and curry. Roti and rice £115.00. (Had to take away what was not eaten).”

  “Above all, the cuisine was of the highest quality, and the standards of hygiene were perfect. It was evident from every taste that the kitchen staff takes tremendous pride in their work. The presentation was stunning, and the flavours were well balanced. You'll be happy with the meal options here whether you're a food fanatic or have a picky pallet. The atmosphere in "What a Shot" is also worth mentioning. The restaurant has a warm vibe that makes it ideal for both big parties and private dining. An inviting and soothing atmosphere is produced by the furnishings, lighting, and music selection.”

  “I very rarely write reviews but I felt compelled as the service given by Alex was and is exceptional, he is an absolute asset to the establishment. I had a private party at the venue and Alex went absolutely above and beyond to making my family and I have the most memorable time. Alex wasn’t phased by having to speak to multiple people that were organising the event, any requests made he would make sure they were dealt with, he made everything feel so effortless and enjoyable. On the day he made sure everything went smoothly, made sure he gave us the best options and made suggestions that would be best for ourselves and our guests. Even a month on I felt I could contact Alex in regards to my event and still he goes above and beyond to help in anyway. It was such a joy having Alex part of my celebrations, he is so kind, considerate and respectful. Just an absolute pleasure to work with, fun easy to get along with guy. I honestly don’t think the experience would have been this exceptional if Alex hadn’t been part of the planning and execution. In regards to the venue, it is stunning and i’m so glad I celebrated such a milestone here. My guests had nothing but amazing things to say from the food to the venue and atmosphere. The food was out of this world as you can tell my experience was amazing and hope to celebrate any special milestones here again. (With the help of Alex of course) Thank you”
