  “The food is excellent, which is why we’ve returned many times\. Unfortunately, the service has been consistently disappointing on every visit\. We often have to repeatedly ask for basic things, and on our most recent visit we had to ask for chutney around five times before it was brought to us\. Even when making eye contact with the staff, we felt ignored\. I’m sorry to say that the lady with the glasses and long plait came across as quite rude, just a simple smile & being nice to customers doesn’t take a lot. We continue to visit because we genuinely love the food\. If the restaurant invested more in customer service training and improved staff attentiveness, it would make a huge difference\. With food of this quality and better service, this restaurant could be outstanding\.”

  “First time here and definitely coming back! Just had a mysore masala dosa and the flavours were excellent. Loved the sambar so much I asked for another bowl. Staff were very helpful and courteous too.”

  “I visited the restaurant for a pick up for South Indian food masala Dosa and sambar. The food is off good quality and I called them prior to arriving. The food was all ready when arrived. Staff is friendly and polite and happy with the service received. This is the place if you want good quality South Indian food.”

  “Food was alright , but service was appalling. We came in a party of 3 , one of the guy was served his veg thali within 5 mins of his order while the two of us had to wait for 45 mins for our food to arrive , and when the food came they forgot to bring in the naan with the accompanying main course. Don’t think we will be going back again”

  “Went with a group of friends and really enjoyed the food. We ordered Mysore masala dosa, uthappam is nicely cooked, ghee podi idly was soft nicely coated with ghee and vada everything was tasty . The badam milk was really nice, and lastly we tried rasamalai, which we enjoyed. Overall, a nice place to enjoy food with friends.”

  “We visited Dakahin on a weekday evening. The restaurant is located on Melton Road, which is a prime and busy location. We ordered the Chilli Paneer, Plain Dosa, and Indian Tea. The tea was lovely, authentic and perfectly brewed. The paneer itself was nicely cooked, but the sauce tasted quite jar-like and overly tangy, and the dish was a bit oily overall. The dosa, although simple, was enjoyable and well-made, served with chutneys that complemented it nicely. On the downside, the restaurant interior felt quite rundown and dated. The tables and chairs were cramped and wobbly, making it a bit awkward to sit comfortably. The toilets, especially the ladies’, were not really usable, which was disappointing. Service could have been better too, as despite us being the only diners, the staff were mostly in the back, and there was quite a bit of background noise. It is also worth noting that this is a cash only place and no card payments are accepted, which can be inconvenient. On a positive note, it is cheap and cheerful, and reasonably priced compared to other places serving similar food of the same quality. It is a shame because the food has potential, but the overall atmosphere and upkeep really let it down.”
