About Feast India
Feast India is a Bollywood-themed Indian restaurant in Leicester, on Melton Rd, built around a buffet with a live chef cooking station where food is cooked fresh and to order. The grill section carries skewers, chicken wings and seekh kebab, while the Indo-Chinese stir fry comes from the wok. Bombay street snacks, including pav bhaji, run alongside dosas on the wider spread. A Sunday roast is served next to the Indian buffet. The restaurant opens Tuesday to Sunday and closes on Mondays. Ice cream is served by asking at the counter.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the starters and grill, from skewers, chicken wings and shish kebabs cooked fresh to order in front of diners, to prawns that one reviewer returned twice to eat. Close behind are the dosas, pav bhaji, gol gappe and wok noodles, though one reviewer found the noodles disappointing. Curries split opinion, with one reviewer calling them well made and vegetarians describing them as very oily. Saltiness comes up more than once, with the prawns and seekh kebab called a little too salty. Others report a lamb biryani that was not good, naans that turned flaky compared with an earlier visit, and warm jellies, cheesecakes and mousses, though another reviewer praises the desserts. Several mention noise when busy, and one Sunday lunch visitor missed gulab jamun and vada pav. Staff earn mostly good marks for clearing plates promptly, and when the forks ran out they were replaced quickly once staff were told.

“Six of us got there for opening time, the bar has a good choice, not just one or two drinks for people waiting to be seated but a proper bar. We had booked, so we're seated immediately. Great open space atmosphere, not as cramped as Wing Wah, Cosmo and Wagamama. The food was excellent with a good choice. They could do with better storage for the lids when loading your plate, but that's a minor thing. We had a mixed group of people, nationalities, age and gender, all were happy and it's good that you have to ask at the counter to be served a good choice of ice cream. No kids playing with a machine or dropping the serving spoon and contaminating everything. Prices are fair and I'll definitely go many more times to enjoy the family atmosphere.👍”

“Lovely food. However I noticed the naans we had were not the same as previously. These were more flaky and not so soft. We visited 5 months ago and the naans were amazing. Please change your recipe back to what it was. Desserts are amazing, we often recommend this restaurant to our friends and families from other cities. Must try.”

“Best buffet in Leicester! Feast India was so nice, and I really enjoyed it. I liked all the dishes except for two items—the prawns and the seekh kebab, which were a little too salty. It would be even better if the extra salt could be reduced. I’ve visited twice, mainly to enjoy these items. Thank you for the delicious food and great service!”

“Visited for the first time a couple weeks ago. It was around 8pm, VERY noisy atmosphere as it was quite busy, the dosa , noodles, fries were great, the curries as vegetarians were very oily and not ones we went back for. The Pav Baji was the best we have tried in a very long time. The desserts were not good at all, the jellys/cheesecakes/mousses were all WARM. Very dangerous. The noodles were really good from the wok. Gol gappe were ace. As first time customers we found staff were quite delayed and not really informative of how things work or the process. Appreciative its a buffet so price was reasonable. Wont be going back any time soon but if its your thing its ok”

“We had a fantastic time at Feast India! The food was absolutely delicious, with so many incredible flavors to choose from, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. Beyond the amazing food, the atmosphere of the restaurant is wonderful—vibrant, welcoming, and perfect for a great night out. What really made the evening special, though, was the service. The staff are incredibly nice, attentive, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We loved everything about our visit and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!”
