Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the mix grill and sizzler dishes, served on steel plates, with one calling it the best mix grill they have had and another saying a regular portion fed two. Close behind are the chicken lollipops, the crispy chicken, and the Madras lamb and chicken curries, along with soft, fluffy naans. Diners describe fresh, tender, flavoursome food, friendly staff and a comfortable atmosphere with plenty of sport on the screens. A few mention a good selection of non-alcoholic beer and a decent pint. One suggests booking ahead. The main complaint is heat: one reviewer found even a Rogan Josh spicier than a typical local curry, and another who asked for the King Prawn Tawa hot got a dish loaded with bird's eye chillies and seeds, with prawns that felt soft and mushy. One diner called the mains the worst in a long time and felt ripped off. Several note the food arriving quickly, and one takeaway order came with nothing missing and no leaks despite curries filled to the brim.

“We went at a very quiet lunch time but the service was excellent. Couldn't fault the food. It was lovely and tasted fresh to us. Yes possibly precooked hence fast service but as long as it tasted great which it did we have no complaints. Presentation was fab. Portion was enough for two ordering a regular size mix sizzler off the bone. Will recommend to others for sure and the prices worth a visit. Even had some left to take home. Thank you”

“Forget Where’s Wally, more like “Where’s the seeds?” Ordered the infamous King Prawn Tawa. When I asked for it hot, I expected extra flavour, spices and masala. Instead, as you can see from the photo, the dish appeared to be loaded with bird’s eye chillies and seeds. Is that really the chef’s idea of making something spicy? If I’d known the approach was simply to chop up a load of chillies and throw them in, I’d have ordered a medium and asked for a side portion of chillies instead. The biggest surprise came when my mum opened one of the king prawns. What came out had a soft, mushy consistency that was more like fish paste than king prawn. There was absolutely zero bite or texture to it whatsoever. Combined with the mountain of chilli seeds, it made for a pretty unpleasant eating experience and certainly wasn’t what anyone would expect from a king prawn dish. Every waiter that walked past seemed to be staring at the takeaway bag, which made me wonder whether they all knew exactly what had come out of the kitchen. Maybe worth adding karma to the menu. To top it off, I ordered three dishes, including chicken, and everything arrived within about 10 minutes. Maybe that’s impressive efficiency, but it certainly didn’t give me the impression that much fresh cooking was taking place. Heat without flavour isn’t good cooking. Anyone can make a dish hotter by throwing in a handful of chillies, but creating proper flavour takes skill. Unfortunately, this meal had plenty of the former and very little of the latter. Won’t be ordering from here or recommending this place ever again!!”

“The starters were ok but definitely took us for a ride with the mains. The worst mains we have ever had in a long time. Feel ripped off. Everyone on the table was put off by it. Definitely not cooked by a chef.”

“Went for lunch on Saturday afternoon, nice ambience with lots of screens within sports. Ordered Mix grill and enjoyed a lot. They serve in steel plates which definitely roots back to Indian customs, loved it. Surely coming back when around this place.”
