About 3 Kilns

3 Kilns is an Indian restaurant and sports bar on Nicklaus Rd in Leicester, run in the style of a pub with a bar, a grill and a dining room. Live sport shows on multiple big screens, so diners can follow a match over a meal with a draft beer in hand. Customer Review Summary

Diners most often point to the tandoori mixed grill, with several praising it alongside chilli dishes such as chilli paneer, chilli chicken and chilli prawns. Chicken tikka masala, a prawn curry, momos and garlic and coriander naan also earn compliments, and positive reviewers describe a lively, bubbly atmosphere, friendly staff and large portions. Starters tend to land better than mains. One reviewer felt several main courses shared the same gravy, and another found the garlic chicken curry swimming in oil, the chilli and lemon chips dry and heavily spiced, and the momos reheated. The sharpest complaints concern the chicken tikka and sheekh kebab, described as tough, chewy, pre-cooked and reheated, with the tikka sent back and replaced by a haryali chicken that was better but still not the best. Billing is another recurring sore point. One diner was charged for papadoms and a chutney tray they say they never ordered and received only a partial refund, and another found a salad that never arrived on the bill. Cocktails were also unavailable on one visit because the syrups had run out.

“There are some wonderful taste experiences on offer at the Three Kilns. Chilli paneer being one of them alongside the Tandoori mixed grill sizzler. Food doesn't take too long to arrive and never fails to impress. The Chicken Tikka Masala is also a winner.”

“This place has a very chilled vibe, however does tend to get very busy. The restaurant has ample parking outside. The service was good and the menu has a large selection of food. The starters were really good. The main course however was a bit disappointing. We noticed that they had used the same gravy to make different dishes that we ordered. This is not expected from a restaurant lie 3 Kilns.”

“Thought we would try this place after seeing they opened one in Hinckley so must be popular. We were disappointed with the service, no real warmth or friendliness. Took ages for someone to take our order and then I had to ask for someone to come over, it was not busy when we arrived at 5pm. Ordered cocktails and mocktails and was told they dont have any because they have ran out of syrup, surely cannot have ran out of every single syrup. Waitress repeating order back , read it so fast we couldn't even understand. Pickle tray was filthy and needs washing before putting dips in it. Clearly had been pre filled and stuck in the fridge. Food was hot but did not taste fresh at all. Ordered salad but never arrived but was on the bill at the end which we asked to have removed. Portions very large A man arrived towards the end of our meal who was more friendly and he was talking to other tables too creating a better atmosphere. On the way out with 3 children , a female staff was in a rush to get something so she pushed in between me and my kids then started pushing my child forward to speed him up( who is 3 ) . I told her not to push him and she apologised but this should not have happened in the first place and she should have waited as we were walking towards the door not standing in the way. Overall not a great experience”
