About My Delhi
My Delhi is an Indian restaurant in Leicester city centre, at 26 Belvoir St, serving street food and roadside curries and open daily. The room follows an Old Delhi style, with a video of a Delhi street and Bollywood music playing while the kitchen sends out plates like gol gappe for the table to share. Butter chicken anchors the curry side of the menu, and the drinks list covers cocktails, mocktails and chai. Lunch and bottomless brunch menus run alongside the main menu, so the format changes with the time of day. The team talks guests through the dishes and will order for the table based on what everyone likes.

Customer Review Summary
Dal makhni is the dish reviewers raise most, described as rich and tasting like the version eaten in Delhi, though one diner found it runny rather than thick. Butter chicken comes close behind, called rich, creamy and packed with flavour. Diners also name the firecracker paneer, gol gappe, momos, cha cha chips, chilli chicken and tandoori kebabs, along with soft, warm naan and cocktails they call great. One regular calls the street food plates unmatched, and a few describe a lively Bollywood soundtrack and an old Delhi feel. Servers draw repeated praise for friendly help choosing dishes, and one table let staff order for them, ending up with spice that left a nice tingle without overpowering. The main complaint comes from one reviewer who found service slower, with only three or four employees juggling the whole restaurant. Another diner, from Nepal, said the food brought back nostalgia for home and found the tea so comforting that they drank four cups.

“10/10 Experience My Delhi blew me away. Being from Nepal, finding flavors that truly hit close to home isn't easy, but eating here brought back a serious wave of nostalgia after a long time. The food was absolutely delicious, but the real star of the show was the tea,, it was so comforting I literally couldn't stop drinking it and ended up having 4 cups. On top of the incredible food, the hospitality was top-notch and the vibe was super cozy and welcoming. Highly recommended if you’re looking for authentic flavors and great energy. Will definitely be coming back!”

“Wonderful find tucked away in Leicester city centre. Not your usual menu but authentic street food. Forget the traditional fare you find in the UK this is very different and tastes soooo much better. Great service. First time visitor and was able to ask questions all the way through it. A special mention to Akhil for his help in giving me the details on each menu item and also to the lady who was on her first night and performed as if she had been there years - I didn’t catch your name, but think it was Alishi?”

“Food was incredible and some of the nicest Indian I’ve had. The service from Andrea was outstanding, super speedy and she made us all extremely comfortable. For how busy it was she was a perfect server and made sure all of our food was to our liking and gave us info on the dishes. Will definitely be coming back with others in the future to try more dishes :)”

“As a professional chef, I don’t give five-star reviews lightly. It takes a lot to impress me, but My Delhi Leicester absolutely did. The food was exceptional—full of flavour, beautifully cooked, aromatic, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Every dish was prepared with real care and attention to detail. The atmosphere was fantastic, the restaurant was spotlessly clean, and every member of the team was friendly, welcoming, and professional. A special thanks to the manager for making us feel so welcome. As you can see from my photo, I finished every last bite! That’s one of the biggest compliments a chef can give. I highly recommend My Delhi to anyone looking for authentic Indian food, outstanding service, and a great dining experience. I’ll definitely be back.”

“The first time was so nice, I had to do it twice! Straight after the Champions League final I was looking for something filling, cost effective and delicious and just crossed the road and went to my Delhi as my first time there was absolutely amazing! I was lucky enough to be served by the wonderful Salma, which made me feel at home, recommended me the best dishes and had an amazing service overall. I decided to go for the normal butter chicken but my Delhi does it different genuinely, rich, creamy and packed with a punch of flavours. If you haven’t been to my Delhi, run there right now. I recommend the cha cha chips, the fish, the momos and definitely any of the curries with the soft and warm variety of naans they offer. Will be back asap!”
