About Glen Parva Manor

Glen Parva Manor is a pub in Glen Parva, Leicester, with a 107-dish menu that runs from grills to Sunday roast. Steaks come in 8oz cuts, including the Rump Steak, and fish and chips sits alongside them. The team takes orders at the table instead of at the bar. Quiz nights run on some evenings, and a children's play area outside gives families a reason to stay on after the meal. Dogs are welcome. Tables can be booked in advance, including for larger groups. The venue also takes function bookings such as a wake, with a Silver buffet option. A spacious car park serves visitors who arrive by car.

Customer Review Summary

Friendly, professional table service is what reviewers raise most. Several note staff who are run off their feet yet stay helpful, and one praises a server who got a large group's heavily modified order exactly right. Food is named specifically: fish and chips, a chicken burger with skin on fries, a salt and chilli kebab, tomato soup, turkey dinner with extra cauliflower cheese, and a sticky toffee sponge. One family held a funeral wake with the silver buffet and describes staff even setting up their projector screen. The Sunday roast draws the sharpest complaint, with a tough Yorkshire pudding, soggy potatoes and veg, and tasteless, solid stuffing. Others mention stains on walls and carpets, condiments and cutlery not restocked, children running about, and menu prices that run high compared with similar pubs. One reviewer found their reserved table's fabric seats badly stained, but the group was moved to another table straight away.

“Great service throughout. Good quality food enjoyed by everyone. We arrived late on the Sunday evening having booked on the spur of the moment so lots of dishes not available, but understood because it was late in the day. Only constructive feedback, would have been good to have included some salad or vegetables with the dishes as mostly protein and brown carbs.”

“This was the first time we went to this pub, we booked a table for 10. We were first seated at our reserved table, but unfortunately the table and seating were very dirty. The fabric blue seats were very badly stained and looked very unpleasant. We asked to be moved and to be fair was given another table straight away. Which I thought was very good and professional. We were then welcomed by our waitress, Marie who took our order at the table, again which I really liked as usually in a pub we have to go order ourselves at the bar. Marie from the off was so friendly, professional and very accommodating. Our starters came out, it was so nice. The whole family loved them. Then our mains, again we had a lot of change to the menu, take things out etc. but I can say everything was exactly how we ordered it, nothing was missing, nothing was wrong. Very pleased. The food was amazing. Probably the best pub food we have had in a long time. Dessert was also spot on. Thank you so much to Marie for making our evening special. And thank you so much to the chef for making excellent food.”

“Took my elderly mother for an afternoon lunch.. where we was served by a lovely gentleman.. my mother mentioned how polite and professional he was during our lunch only to be told by this gentleman that he was doing school work experience for this week.. he catered to our needs very well mannered.. The lunch was to my satisfaction and will come again”

“The service is always really friendly and helpful and the staff are run off their feet. I often go to Glen Parva Manor with my elderly Dad - it's his favourite. The fish and chips and some other dishes are very tasty, but the Sunday roast was a big disappointment. A very tough Yorkshire pudding, soggy potatoes and veg and the worst stuffing I've ever had in a restaurant - tasteless and solid. The savings vouchers normally make lunch wonderful value! But it's not great that one can't use it for major events like Father's Day.”

“Just had to leave a review as they were nothing short of excellent! I booked the venue for my late mothers funeral wake and booked the “Silver buffet” All including leaving an amount set behind the bar, to which they policed well. The service was exemplary, the food was of good quality and a splendid variety.they even set up our projector screen for us. Thank you for making the celebration of Mums life just perfect.”
