About Soar Point Leicester
Soar Point Leicester is a pub in a student area of Leicester, at 25 The Newarke. It runs a pop punk themed bottomless brunch, and the same venue hosts quiz nights and retro-gaming for anyone who wants an activity with their drink. The menus take their influence from street food, and breakfast includes a full English with a vegetarian option. Football matches are shown on the TV screens, so the pub works as a place to follow a game over a meal. The pub is under new independent ownership following a renovation.

Customer Review Summary
Bottomless brunch is what most reviewers come for, including a pop punk version, and they describe the food as tasty and delicious with a great range of drinks that kept flowing. Servers draw repeated praise for checking on tables often and keeping glasses topped up, and one large group says a server sorted out a food mix-up. The terrace by the river is called relaxing, and one reviewer mentions a full English breakfast with a vegetarian option, which returned after the renovation under independent owners. The one critical review comes from a former regular who says the place lost character since the ownership change. A swan mural was painted over in plain orange, QR code ordering was removed, there is no proper menu, so drinks availability has to be asked at the bar, and quite a few drinks were out of stock on a busy night. That reviewer still calls the location and view of the swans fantastic, with good prices, and a first-time visitor at the opening party describes feeling like family.

“The food was delicious, there was a great variety of drinks to choose from, and the atmosphere was really nice. Overall, sitting on the terrace by the river gave me such a relaxing and enjoyable feeling.”

“First visit since the new owners took over and I have to say it's a terrific place. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and attentive. The range of drinks is fantastic. I'm normally very fussy especially when it comes to food but the menu is great. I felt more like a family member than a customer. My head is still pounding from the amount I drank at the opening party and I believe that there's great things ahead. Thanks again for a terrific night and I hope that good things continue to happen to you all. Michael you're an absolute legend and should be very proud of your staff. Can't wait to return”

“My girlfriend and I used to be regulars here. It was always our go-to spot whenever there was a football match on. Since the change in ownership, it just doesn’t have the same feel. The layout might be the same, but the place feels like it has lost some of its character. For example, there used to be a great mural of a swan that really suited the location, but that has now been replaced with plain orange paint, which is a bit of a shame. It’s small touches like that that made the place stand out before. Another downside is the removal of the QR code ordering. It was really convenient and one of the reasons we kept coming back. It made getting a drink, especially during busy times, quick and easy. Now it can be a bit of a hassle, which we found out last night, and quite a few drinks were also out of stock. There also doesn’t seem to be a proper menu anymore, so you don’t really know what’s available unless you go up and ask. I really hope they bring back the QR codes and restore some of the character the place used to have. It’s still a great place to visit in a fantastic location, especially in the summer, with good prices and an excellent view of the swans 🦢”

“Amazing pub in a great location! We have been regulars for the past few years and the pub recently underwent renovation, under an independent owner which is nice to see after so many chains opening. Food is lovely and they brought back the full english breakfast which is a nice traditional touch to the menu (vegetarian option available). Great selection of drinks and the staff is always friendly!”

“A welcoming and informal bar in a student area, open from breakfast til the early hours. A great place to relax, meet new friends and join in activities such as quizzing and retro-gaming. It is also an ideal place to watch the big games on TV whilst eating and drinking from street food influenced menus.”
