  “This is one of a small handful of genuinely good restaurants in the city centre. What makes it? Well the food is excellent, although the menu is a little less interesting than it used to be... did they always offer pizza? The cocktails surpass the standard of some dedicated cocktail places. The wine list is interesting, and I'm yet to find a dud. The real difference is the staff. They really seem to remember their customers, even those who aren't super regular, and are attentive to the details.”

  “Always a great experience whenever I’ve dined here. First visit for a Sunday roast and we thoroughly enjoyed everything. Would highly reccomend the beef wellington and the Bloody Mary.”

  “Me and my partner went in today to catch the end of their lunch deal. We had such wonderful food for an amazing price with their deal. Best fish and chips I’ve ever had it was so light and tasty. Felix our server was just brilliant, super kind, really funny and all around fab. I would highly recommend Whitehall, their outside seating was lovely and has both parasols and heaters (not that we needed those today). Can’t talk highly enough about it”

  “Only a four minute walk from the Leeds train station, Whitehall is one of the easiest restaurants to access and well worth every step. This restaurant offers a large variety of food so there’s something for everyone. From the meat eater, to the pescatarian, to the veggie… they’ve got something for everyone. I’ve been to Whitehall with family, with my partner, for business meetings, and more. It truly is a space for any occasion. Not in the mood for a large main? That’s fine, with a big “small plates” menu feel free to make it a tapas evening. The wine list is also impressive with a great quality and variety. As if it couldn’t get better than that, the staff is friendly, knowledgable about the menu, and always smiling and interactive without being intrusive. This is easily one of my favourite restaurants in the city of Leeds. Have been more than a dozen times and impressed on every occasion. MUST VISIT”

  “Hands down the best Sunday roast I’ve had in a restaurant - the attention to detail and cooking on every single element was outstanding. Simply faultless! And the apple pie that was like the Golden Arches version on steroids! What can I say… dreamy! The service was impeccable, we didn’t have to ask for anything, from the extra gravy brought out with the roasts to always being that’s to offer drink top ups. I’ll be back very soon!”

  “We had a fantastic dinner at The Whitehall Restaurant & Bar and it was truly one of the best meals of our trip in the UK. The ambience was warm and elegant, perfect for a relaxed yet special evening. We started with six fresh oysters, which were clean, briny and very well presented. The highlight was the impressive Tomahawk steak – perfectly cooked, juicy, tender and full of flavour, great for sharing. For mains, we enjoyed the Pappardelle Pomodoro, with its rich and comforting slow-roasted San Marzano tomato ragu, basil, confit garlic and aged parmesan – simple yet beautifully executed. The Black Truffle Gnocchi was absolutely indulgent, packed with earthy truffle aroma, wild forest mushrooms, spinach, chives and crispy potatoes, creating a wonderful balance of textures and flavours. Every dish was delicious, well-plated and thoughtfully prepared. Service was attentive and friendly, making the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. A wonderful place for a special meal – we loved it so much that we are already thinking of coming back again. Highly recommended!”

  “We were a walk-in today, wanted to try their Sunday roast, pictures and reviews we read were decent. Managed to get a table but was asked if we'd mind agreeing to a limited time, which wasn't a problem. I would recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment. Service was good, very attentive, food was excellent, we had Beef and Pork, both cooked perfectly. Came with a side of cauliflower cheese and extra gravy. Portion size was enough for us, very happy with our visit.”

  “I was fortunate to be staying nearby and was pulled in by the intriguing menu filled with delights for carnivores like myself and choices for my vegetarian wife. We were both impressed with the quality of the food and the friendliness of our servers. There was little wait for our food, but each dish was cooked to perfection. The Venison Wellington was a standout dish for me, and I found it paired quite well with a side order of scalloped potatoes. We left full, happy, and looking forward to the next visit! Thanks to all the staff!”

  “I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was superb and the service matched up to it too. Excellent interior and the location is super convenient being close to the train station. You normally find restaurants this good in London so we’re lucky to have this standard in Leeds.”
