About Coffee 7

Brunch anchors the menu at Coffee 7, a coffee shop on Otley Old Rd in Leeds, where an Iranian tomato omelette sits alongside a Spanish omelette for anyone after something beyond the standard morning plate. The independent café is run by a husband-and-wife team who serve customers themselves. Coffee and lattes come with cakes and pastries, while the savoury side runs to sandwiches, wraps and burgers, among them a beef sausage wrap. Orders are placed at the counter and no booking is needed, and the doors open daily through the daytime. An outdoor seating area gives the option of eating outside, and dogs and other animals are welcome there. Music plays in the background, and there is room to leave a bike, scooter or pushchair for anyone cycling in or arriving with young children.

Customer Review Summary

The coffee draws the most repeated praise, described as spot on and, by one regular, better than the big chains, with the lattes singled out and another reviewer calling it a weekly treat. Close behind is the breakfast and brunch cooking: several point to the omelettes, including a Spanish omelette one reviewer recommends outright and an Iranian tomato omelette another describes as tasting like home, alongside hash browns, a chicken mayo sandwich, a beef sausage wrap and a chicken fillet burger. The owners, a husband and wife team, come up in nearly every account for the warm welcome and the readiness to chat, with several calling the café their regular spot and one noting animals are greeted as politely as people. Impressions of the room diverge, one visitor finding it cosy and intimate while another says it lacks much atmosphere. The only food criticism raised is a cake found a bit dry, though still tasty. One reviewer recounts the man serving helping light a birthday candle they had brought in.

“Been here numerous times and always welcomed with a friendly smile and warm welcome. The service provided is always above and beyond, the owner kind and friendly and always happy to have a chat. Then there is the coffee and food, the coffee always hits the spot and in my opinion beats the big chains, and the food is on another level freshly made and tastes amazing. My personal recommendations are the beef sausage wrap, and the chicken fillet burger.”

“Kirra is back at her favourite coffee shop this morning! Really lovely local cafe that has become our regular. The owner husband and wife team have been welcoming us from day 1 with open arms. The coffee is great and I'm still working my way through the food menu but everything I had has been really lovely so far.”
