“Basic restaurant above Asian supermarket. No frills and low prices, seldom-found proper szechuan food. I had vegan chicken, really spicy and numbing with spice. Will be back.”

“Perfect if you’re after a 2/3 course lunchtime special. The service is fast, the food comes quickly, the staff are friendly. I had to order 3 courses as there’s a £15 minimum spend on 💳. Extremely filling ~ set up for the rest of the day.”

“BEWARE! The 4.5 rating was COMPLETELY UNDESERVED. My partner and I were so excited because we were craving noodles and authentic Chinese dishes. We tried the lunch menu and started with two chicken and sweet corn soup. They were nearly inedible!! The consistency was congealed and disgusting. Adding soy sauce barely helped. I couldn't eat even 5% of it. We also tried the sweet and sour ribs-- all batter and bone. NO meat. Honestly, don't bother. My partner got the sweet and sour chicken and I got the beef and veg. Mine was only marginally better. The noodles were GREASY and oily and honestly so bad. We were so so so disappointed. This is NOT a hidden gem. This is NOT where you wanna go here on a date or with your family. I never write a review I don't mean, so PLEASE trust me. I adore Chinese food -- China has amazing regional foods, but this place is absolutely one you should skip. PLEASE.”

“Entrance is through the back of the supermarket where we enjoyed a family meal here. Staff were very attentive and service was quick. We got the steamed seabass and even we saw the chef take it from frozen, he cooked it so well, we couldn’t tell it was frozen so kudos to his cooking skills. He did tell us it was not fresh seabass but nevertheless, it turned out great. Portions were good and all the food came out quickly and hot. Happy to revisit this place when we’re next back.”

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to a wide menu of Chinese dishes served quickly by friendly staff, with lunchtime sets, large portions, and low prices. Diners single out the steamed seabass, the veggie fried rice, and a vegan chicken dish described as spicy and numbing. One adds that pigs trotters and pigs intestines are on offer, which a typical takeaway lacks. The room is described as casual and relaxed, though one reviewer finds the decor unfashionable. Starters arrive together with mains, so one regular suggests asking for them separately if that would bother a table, and several suggest booking for big groups. Not everyone is won over. One reviewer calls the chicken and sweet corn soup congealed and nearly inedible, the sweet and sour ribs all batter and bone, and the noodles greasy. Another found the tomyum less spicy than expected. One family watched the chef take the seabass from frozen and was told it was not fresh, yet could not tell once it reached the table.
