About Duchess of Kirkcaldy
On Nicol St in Kirkcaldy, Duchess of Kirkcaldy is a restaurant open Wednesday to Sunday and closed Mondays and Tuesdays. The menu pairs macaroni cheese sourdough garlic bread with chunky chips, and chicken goujons and mozzarella sticks sit alongside it. A lunch menu is offered, and brunch comes boozy, with a welcome drink and cocktails. The bar also runs a wider selection beyond the cocktails. Afternoon tea is available by reservation and is separate from the normal menu. Seating mixes a reservation booth area with more casual spots, and a pink room is set aside for group bookings. The venue holds a quiz night and hosts events throughout the month.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out friendly staff, with family celebrations and a hen do's boozy brunch in the pink room, welcome drink and cocktails included, mentioned repeatedly. Food praise centers on the lunch menu's macaroni cheese with sourdough garlic bread and chunky chips, followed by chicken goujons, mozzarella sticks and a fresh side salad. One reviewer raves about the fish tea deal, and another notes the local quizzes are very challenging. Complaints are fewer but specific. One diner found the lasagne burnt and half full, with orange cheese to one side and no minced beef, and says nobody asked about allergies. Another found the truffle fries disappointing because of how the Parmesan was added, and a third describes loud seating and slow service when busy. One afternoon tea booking was treated as a normal reservation, leaving the party with the normal menu only, though staff were nice about it.

“My wife and i were in today for lunch i had an all day breakfast which wasn't worth the money, My wife had lasagne with garlic bread and salad the lasagne had orange cheese to one side of dish didn't find any minced beef dish was only half full and burnt will not be back. P.S. we where never asked at anytime if either of us had allergies. Didn't complain at time because didn't want to embarriss the staff”
