Quick info
About La Padella Fish Bar
La Padella Fish Bar is a fish and chips takeaway on Caskieberran Road in Glenrothes, run for collection and delivery with no seating on site. The menu stretches past the usual fish supper into pizza, with a half-battered pizza among the options, alongside steak pie suppers and white pudding suppers. Orders can be placed online or by phone, and the same staff in the shop pick up the phone lines to handle delivery requests, so any issue with an online order can be raised by calling back. It is a walk-in counter, with payment handled in person.

“This used to be very good but not anymore. I don't know what happened to this place. The fish I ordered was inedible and went straight in the bin. It was like it had been sat out for ages and then re-fried. You couldn't even cut it with a knife. Disgusting. I won't order again.”

“The staff should spend more time focusing on the customers INSIDE the shop rather than deciphering telephone calls for online deliveries. Hard to believe my order was forgotten about. Very poor service and food (when I eventually got it) was greasy. Wouldn't recommend.”

“It's been a while since I ordered from here because it started going downhill for a while. The food surprised us and it was really good. Everything was fresh and piping hot. The batter was crispy on everything. Here's hoping it stays that way for a while.”

“Food is usually great, delivered on time and still fresh. Portions are always decent. Today I got a delivery that I placed online, and called into the store immediatly after placing it, in order to confirm with the store what I was after. Just making sure what they seen in the online order was my request. After calling to confirm everything seemed to be fine. Sadly my half battered pizza was delivered in 2 quarters, uncooked, cold, not battered. When I called to explain the issue, Lorraine explained it was my fault for not ordering online correctly. Ever tho I explained I had called afterwards to confirm the order. I said I wasn't that fussed as accidents happen, and said 'hey, ill be happy with a free half pizza next time" This wasn't agreeable, and I was instructed to call back at some arbitrary time of day, during my word day, in order to escalate this tiny issue.”

“I questioned the advertised price of a steak pie supper as it said £7.50 it was cheaper to buy a steak pie and large bag of chips. The lady serving said it was wrong once she checked. Be interesting to see if they are charging what is on the board. Or how many people actually question it. My steak pie wasn't wrapped properly so it fell out in the bag and both meals were luke warm. Bern a while since I have been to this chippy but unfortunately don't think I will be back any time soon.”
