About Pranzo Italian Ilkley
Pranzo Italian Ilkley is an Italian restaurant in Ilkley and the flagship restaurant of its owner, opened in May 2018 and built around homemade fresh pasta. The approach began in Calabria, where owner Marco drew on his Nonna's pasta and his family recipes. The menu lists 59 dishes, including Mafalde with a 4 hour braised beef shin ragù and Paccheri with home made spicy nduja. The menu explains the different pasta types, and the staff talk guests through both the pasta and the menu. Cocktails and imported Italian wines run alongside the food. The interior is modern, with booth seating, and a private dining room is available for groups. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Handmade pasta anchors the praise, with the beef shin ragù, crab ravioli, lobster ravioli and a paccheri with spicy nduja and fennel sausage all called delicious. Garlic focaccia comes close behind, with two diners wishing they had room for more. The arancino with beetroot and goats cheese, the celeriac soup and the tiramisu also get singled out. Servers are described as friendly and knowledgeable about both food and drinks, and one visitor praised the cocktail and mocktail list. The complaints are modest. Courses arrived slowly on a quiet evening, the room can get loud when crowded even in the booths, one sausage pasta was a tad salty, and the short rib special felt thin. When the cannelloni had run out, the waiter apologised and suggested the paccheri instead.

“Lovely lunch once again at Pranzo! Took advantage of their lunch menu £15 for a bowl of delicious pasta and of course their garlic bread 🤤 Huge shout out to Lucy who served us, thank you!”

“We had a lovely 2 course meal...the ambience is lovely, staff are great and it would have been 3 but the starters are quite substantial. We forgot to take a photo of them but we would highly recommend any of the pasta dishes with seafood. Magnifico”

“I went for dinner on Saturday evening and had a fabulous time. I love the Harrogate restaurant so wanted to see how the Ilkley one compared. Lucas served us and he was brilliant! He had great energy and was really knowledgeable about the menu. We both ordered the prawn and chorizo starter, followed by the beef shin pasta and lobster ravioli. All delicious. Pranzo is easily becoming my favourite place!”

“Popped in with my mum on a Sunday around lunch time. No reservation needed and we were seated straight away. We really appreciated how warm and welcoming the staff were and that they actually took time to tell us about the history of the place and the menu. The restaurant was very clean with a nice modern decor. The music in the background was at a good volume, making it easy to converse without feeling like the table next to us could hear every word we said (and vice versa), which added to the lovely atmosphere of the place. We ordered our drinks and we were really impressed with the cocktail/mocktail menu and how well they were able to accommodate my mum who doesn’t drink alcohol. We shared a bruschetta as a starter which was delightful. We then ordered the Mafalde with 4 hour braised beef shin ragù and the Cannelloni filled with basil pesto, goats cheese and sun dried tomatoes, but unfortunately they were out the Cannelloni, however the waiter has given us an excellent recommendation of Paccheri with home made spicy nduja and fennel sausage which we chose and definitely weren’t disappointed with (they were also very apologetic about this issue). Both of our dishes were delicious, fresh and full of flavour and the portion sizes were ideal for us. We initially weren’t going to order the focaccia as a side dish but definitely glad we did as it was perfect with our mains. It started to get a little bit busier as we were leaving but again due to the sleek decor and spacing of the tables it still didn’t feel too crowded. Overall it was a very positive dining experience, good value for money too and I would definitely come back to try the Cannelloni and perhaps some of their desserts (had absolutely no room for a sweet treat this time around).”

Highlights
“Pranzo Ilkley is our flagship restaurant which opened in May 2018. Our Italian restaurant in Ilkley serves homemade fresh pasta, has a great selection of cocktails and an amazing range of imported Italian wines. Our Ilkley restaurant boasts a homely, intimate indoor area and also has an outside seating area with a European vibe, perfect for alfresco dining. The journey of our Italian restaurant, Pranzo, began in Calabria, southern Italy. Here Marco drew inspiration from his Nonna’s homemade pasta, his family recipes and his passion for fresh produce to create an authentic Italian dining experience with a modern twist. That's how we have evolved to be your home for freshly made pasta”
