Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the fixed-price lunch and set dinner menus, with several calling the two-course and three-course options exceptional value and noting generous portions. Scallops come up repeatedly as a starter, alongside the arancini, chilli prawns and handmade pasta, while the lamb ragu, vegetarian ravioli and a mash served with steak earn individual praise. Focaccia, whether complimentary or ordered, is described as full of flavour. Reviewers also single out the wine list, mentioning a primitivo, an Italian Merlot and a limoncello spritz, and describe the staff as friendly, welcoming and attentive. The main caveat comes from one date-night visit, where the pork was overcooked, the pizza slightly undercooked, and a chocolate pudding tasted strongly of chocolate orange, which the menu had not mentioned, and had no molten centre. Another reviewer found the lamb steak slightly chewy but flavourful. Several say they plan to return, and one mentions being given a table as a walk-in on a bank holiday weekend.

“Honestly one of the best meals we’ve had in ages! The food was absolutely amazing from start to finish. I had the chilli prawns to start and my boyfriend had the scallops, both were delicious. For mains I had the vegetarian ravioli and he had a pizza, and we couldn’t fault a single thing. You can really tell everything is fresh and homemade, and the quality of the food was outstanding. A special mention to Chef Matthew, clearly someone who takes real pride in what he does! The service was just as lovely. Unfortunately I didn’t catch the name of the young lad who looked after us, but he had longish brown hair and was so friendly and attentive. He really made us feel welcome. We both walked out saying it was the best food we’d had in ages, and we eat out quite a lot! Honestly cannot recommend this place enough. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely somewhere you need to try. We’ll absolutely be returning!”

“If you're visiting Ilkley, or just passing through, this lovely Italian restaurant is definitely one to seek out. Use their website to check the opening hours, view the menus, and book a table. I'd definitely recommend booking, as it's a popular place. I'm talking here about their lunch menu, but I can't help concluding that you wouldn't be disappointed whatever time of day you're there. This was our lunchtime experience. The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated, and well laid out. The front-of-house staff were relaxed, friendly, and very efficient. I didn't see the chef(s), but the excellent food speaks for them. Service was at a gentle pace, which I like. We went for the two course fixed-price lunch menu. It's available as one, two, or three courses. It was outstanding. It comes with a glass of decent wine or beer, and I assume there's also a soft drink option. A jug of water and some bread with olive oil for dipping appeared soon after we sat down. There's a really good choice of starters and mains. The portions are generous, not the obviously smaller servings you can sometimes get with fixed-price deals (I hate it when restaurants do that). Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked. We were really full afterwards, but a dessert and coffee looked lovely when the tray passed our table. Two courses for less than £40 in total for the two of us, and a proper lunch experience. Great value, and one to remember whenever we're in that part of the world. I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you give it a try. I really like places like this, where I'm reminded just how well the rest of Europe does lunch.”

“An absolute gem. A friend and I visited yesterday and had 2 courses each from the set dinner menu. Super food with good sized portions and wonderful staff. Will definitely be going back again. Italian Merlot very pleasant”

“This was such a great find. They managed to accommodate a walk in on bank holiday weekend. I cannot praise the staff enough for being so professional, warm and friendly. I had the lamb steak (slightly chewy than personally preferred but made up for it in flavour!) which I thoroughly enjoyed and my partner had beef steak which was equally delicious! The mash however was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. We were also presented with complimentary focaccia beforehand, a generous gesture we happily wolfed down. The place is lovely and we had such a great evening. I would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back!!”
