Quick info
About Mamma Mia
Mamma Mia is an Italian restaurant in Bradford, at 3 Upper Piccadilly, and the same family has run it since 1984. The menu pairs pizzas, including the Regina Margherita, with pasta dishes, and seasonal specials join them. Starters and portions are large enough to share, and a couples deal runs on weekdays. The dining room has simple Italian décor with wooden chairs, and a bar area seats walk-in diners. Groups can book ahead, and large parties can pre-order their food. The restaurant opens Tuesday to Saturday and closes on Sundays and Mondays.

Customer Review Summary
Pizza anchors the praise at Mamma Mia, with reviewers calling the fresh pizzas beautiful to look at and authentic, and one singling out the Regina Margherita. Pasta dishes and big shared starters come up close behind, along with generous portions and a weekday couples deal one reviewer calls excellent value. Diners repeatedly describe friendly, welcoming staff and a warm, bustling, family run feel, and one Italian reviewer calls the food authentic. Several note that it was busy yet handled well, with a group of nine made space for right away without a booking and another couple offered a table in the bar area that was swiftly prepared. The one mixed note comes from a reviewer who at first did not feel welcomed, though it improved once they started chatting with the staff. One diner also points to the framed Bradford shirt on the wall.

“I went to Mamma Mia's to celebrate my 65th Birthday with my family. I had not been for some time as I now live in Leeds, but always had enjoyed both the food & service. I decided to book for a Saturday night for 9 people and was delighted to find the food, atmosphere and service as good as ever, despite it being a very busy Saturday night, although, given how busy they normally are, I had everyone pre order the food to aid a smooth process, however, it did help but it would have been fine as they are a well organised machine, but keeping with attentive service and attention to detail. All in all, I was so pleased I went to a local independent restaurant rather than a faceless national chain. The night was a fabulous experience with all of my family enjoying the whole evening.”

“Was very impressed with the service and food. It was a friday night, it was busy but didnt feel it once sat down. Food was lovely. Amazing portions, service we couldn't fault. Even had a drink after too. Price was incredible for 4 of us. We shared 2 starters as they were quite big. 4 mains, 2 bottles of wine and a drink after and it was £125 before tip. Lovely lady behind the bar was fab. Great family business. Will definitely be back.”
