About Luigi's
Luigi's is an Italian restaurant and bar on Beehive Lane in Ilford, with a menu of 20 dishes and a back garden planted with grapevines and fitted with a pizza oven. The kitchen turns out a vegetarian pizza alongside its wider range, and the tiramisu is made in house. On Sundays, a buffet runs with live music. The business is family run, and allergy information is displayed for diners who need it. Reservations are recommended, though the room welcomes guests without one when space allows. Families with young children can request high chairs, and the step-free entrance suits visitors with mobility needs. The garden also serves as outdoor seating for those who prefer to eat outside, and free Wi-Fi is available throughout. For those eating off site, the restaurant offers both takeaway and delivery. Luigi's is open Tuesday to Sunday and closed on Mondays.

Customer Review Summary
Diners repeatedly single out the vegetarian pizza as a standout, with several describing generous portions and a freshly made base. The Sunday buffet draws praise too, with families noting kids enjoying the pasta and live music adding to the atmosphere, and the homemade tiramisu gets a specific mention even from an otherwise mixed review. Many describe the setting itself, a family run space with a back garden, as part of what makes the visit feel authentically Italian, and staff are frequently called friendly and attentive, including hosts who look after tables closely. One less enthusiastic reviewer found the bruschetta basic, just chopped tomatoes on toasted baguette, and said the calamari lacked taste in its batter, leaving it unfinished, though they still praised the pizza base and tiramisu. Most others describe returning after years away and finding the food unchanged, with one longtime patron noting the chef is still the owner behind it all.

“this is one of my favourite Italians in the last 25 years. I've not been back for over 10 years or surprised it was still open as everything seems to be shutting owing to covid. The food tastes exactly the same and the chef is the owner …”

“Went on a weekday-early evening...was expecting authentic italian food but it was pretty basic. Bruschetta was a few chopped tomatoes on a very toasted baguette cut side ways. Calamari wasn't great either...we ended up leaving it...no taste...just dipped in some plain flour batter & fried. Main was veg pizza...again..basic but base seemed freshly made & nice. Tiramisu was homemade & lovely.”
