  “This has become one of our favourite local places in the past few months. Great food, friendly staff and brilliant coffee (please keep the iced Banana bread latte on the menu forever!!) I love the art upstairs and the whole vibe. Definitely recommend to everyone.”

  “Had breakfast here this morning, it was delicious! Great coffee (actually the best I've had out in a while) and sourdough toast with scrambled egg and a bloody Mary sauce, I'm not usually a sauce kinda girl but this was round the side of the plate rather than on the food and l mopped it all up, very tasty 😋 My partner had the smokey beans on sourdough toast, also amazing...might have that when we go back tomorrow.”

  “Nice little spot just before you go into the indoor market. Great place for a beautiful coffee and healthy breakfast. I had the home made oats and fruit bowl, it was so nice and set me up for the day.”

  “I have visited Temperance on multiple occasions and least to say, I love their coffee. I have had latte, cappuccino, mocha even ventured to have the much controversial drink of the Genz 'Matcha' Unlike the other coffee joints that use Matcha syrup, this place has got authentic Matcha taste with it's grainy texture. Milk coffees are rich and creamy. Recently I ordered their Iced mocha latte and savoured every sip of it. I love clicking photos of coffee, particularly when presented beautifully and here's a few of them from the Temperance! If you are in and around Halifax, Temperance might be a good place to hang out whilst treating yourself to some good coffee! 17/05: Tried one of the specialities, Mont Blanc and boy, it was so delicious!! It was super creamy, smooth and the cold brew was right on point. The presentation of the drink deserves a 10 star!! Loved every sip of it. I am surely going to go back to try the other specialities!! Temperance never fails to tempt!”

  “Honestly the BEST veggie breakfast in Halifax, maybe even West Yorkshire! So unbelievably tasty. Everything was super yummy, garlic mushrooms, grilled halloumi, homemade hash browns etc. cooked to perfection. Coffee was great too.”

  “Food fresh and tasty. Temperance Benni was flavoursome and the spice was just right. The meat breakfast was all locally sourced and cooked to perfection! Coffee hot and good quality. The orange juice is freshly squeezed. The cherry apple pie juice tasted as expected. Everything perfect. All scrumpy and they cater for vegans or is it they cater for carnivores ! Well worth the visit and we will be back to try the next special.”

  “My sister and I stopped at Temperance on our drive back down to London to have breakfast, and I’m so glad we did! They have a really fun specialist hot drinks menu - I had the Banana Bread latte and my sister had the Earl Grey Coconut latte. Both really lovely, fun and well made! To eat, my sister got the french toast and I got the tuscan beans (though I did steal quite a few bites of her french toast, as well). The food was absolutely delicious and nicely seasoned, and the portions were very generous. Huge props to the french toast being incredibly balanced, too! Perfect mix of tender and creamy with crispy elements, not too sweet balanced out with a bit of tartness from the yoghurt and compote. Staff were really friendly and welcoming and the space is nice and cosy. I wish you guys were my local!”

  “Nice cafe, delicious food, friendly staff. The only thing I’d constructively feed back is the music choice was a bit abrasive and a bit loud too. Also the interior is just a little on the grubby side with visible dust on the lamps directly above tables, the windows/ metal work has food splatters on them too. A good clean and it would make a huge difference to the ambience 🙂”
