Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the Taste of the Rusty Gun, called great and perfect, with the carvery close behind, described as superb at a Sunday lunch for a large anniversary party. Also praised are a steak and cheese pie, a chicken and mushroom pie, halloumi and frickles to start, a very large crumble, and a pleasant decaf cappuccino. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and attentive without rushing. One critical reviewer found the ribs small and drowned in shop bought tasting barbecue sauce, got a fatty ribeye where the menu said sirloin, and called the halloumi fries dry and overcooked, with empty glasses left on a quiet day and a bill that felt expensive. Others call the pricing reasonable or even under priced. One reviewer is already planning to return for Wednesday rib night.

“We spontaneously stopped off here at a sunday lunch time. Surprised to see it so busy as there is not much around. We found it completely fully booked but choose to sit outside anyway. I ordered a chicken and mushroom pie,veg and mash. My partner enjoyed the carvery . Both meals were amazing and I believe under priced . Under £20 each.”

“There were 10 of us for Sunday lunch to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. We all had the carvery which was superb, compliments to the chef! We had a leisurely lunch wirh main, desert and coffees. The staff were attentive but not overbearing and didn't rush us. All members of our party were very impressed with the whole set up. Thank you for making our meal special on such an important anniversary. We will certainly visit soon!”

“What a beautiful place The Rusty Gun is. From the minute we walked in, we were made very welcomed. And for the food, it was delicious. The Taste of the Rusty Gun was perfect and showcased the quality and choice of food. We are visiting from Australia and this was one of the best meals we have had.”
