  “On Tuesday evening my friends and I had a meal at Tarla. Warmly welcomed by the staff. I had the bbq monkfish and they changed the mash potatoes to rice for me. The monkfish was cooked to perfection, the bbq veggies were tasty and the rice was soft and delicious. We were celebrating two belated birthdays and the staff put lots of candles onto our Colin the Caterpillar cake, switched on the super loud birthday music and they sang to the girls around our table. The only tiny niggle is that they don't always get the drinks order right - with regard to the ice versus no ice! But I can live with that , as the restaurant was packed, and the food was excellent. Thank you.”

  “What a great place to go for amazing food. Typical Turkish staff so friendly and cannot be more helpful or attentive. The best Kleftiko I've ever had, the meat literally fell off the bone, so good we went back the next night with the family.”

  “Pinar was our main waitress and she was such a lovely host! She was so down to earth and guided us through the menu. She was patient with our table and kept checking in on us to make sure we were okay. The food was really well seasoned and great portions! Overall all the staff were lovely and we had a great time as a family 🤍”

  “Located in the heart of Stevenage Old Town, this is without a doubt the BEST restaurant in the area. It’s easy to see why it is so highly rated. Everything from the food and drinks to the service and cleanliness was exceptional. A real gem that deserves every bit of its success. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Turkish cuisine. I genuinely felt like I was in Turkey from the moment I walked through the door. The warm welcome, authentic atmosphere, and incredible food made for a truly memorable experience. Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully prepared, bringing back memories of being in Turkey. The service was outstanding; friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. The restaurant is spotless, including the bathrooms, which shows how much care and attention goes into every detail. The cocktails were also fantastic and perfectly made. Would definitely recommend and will be back soon, thank you TARLA!”

  “Very average. Nothing particularly exciting or interesting. Some of the food was tasty other parts were far too salty or far too bland. The main was fair but the starter abysmal. The service really let the experience down removing water glasses while literally still in hand in an attempt to get you to leave- not acceptable when you are spending £45+ per head. I would not recommend and would not return.”

  “Now I understand why Tarla won Best Turkish Restaurant (Regional) — everything was absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived, everyone was so welcoming and friendly. A special mention to Ardam, who made us feel incredibly comfortable. He was always up for a chat and brought such great energy throughout our visit. It was my first time trying Turkish food, and Tarla did not disappoint at all. My auntie and I travelled all the way from London just to visit, and it was completely worth it — not a single complaint. To start, we had the mix hot plate with sucuk, halloumi, falafel, calamari, and sigara börek. It was definitely my favourite and paired perfectly with a passion fruit martini and a rosé wine. The mains were just as good — a solid 10/10. Very affordable, fantastic atmosphere, and incredible food. We’ll definitely be back next month!”

  “I’m American. And I loved this place. First time in England. First time in Stevenage and i thought this meal was wonderful. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was so so good. I highly recommend eat here. The prices are fair. The staff is top notch. I must say, as a foreigner,Stevenage is quite a friendly place!”

  “Fish Bass from grill absolutely fantastic. Very good and nice staff. Profesional and friendly. The boss carefully asks the customers if everything is as it should be. The Restaurant TARLA is located on an atmospheric historic street in the old town. Near is very safe parking. I will definitywny return to this restaurant. Thank you so much TARLA.
