Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the free dessert, with toffee apple fritters named as a favourite, and several say one was handed over unprompted after a mistake or a first order. Close behind are generous portions and friendly counter staff, with the house special chow mein and a set meal for one singled out. One reviewer mentions a clean hygiene rating, and another calls the complimentary prawn crackers a little short on flavour. The criticism is split between food and service. One diner found the chow mein dry, the chicken balls bland, and the ribs and sweet and sour sauces gloopy like glue. A reviewer who ordered the wrong soup says a staff member shouted at them over paying the difference, and another says a wrong order was not refunded or resent, with the mistaken item requested back. A delivery customer complains that the driver would not leave the car and that no one asked about allergies. By contrast, one regular who thought they were overcharged says the server was kind and understanding, and a free dessert followed.

“First time ordering here and really impressed. I checked the hygiene rating first (always do!) and it was a 5. Friendly service and tasty generous portions. Even gave me a desert on the house,! I would definitely return and recommend.”

“The chow mein was dry and no flavour, the ribs sauce is so gloopy and the sweat and sour sauce is also gloopy like glue. The chicken balls had no flavour.”

“Tried ordering a delivery and the owners stated very clearly the driver will not get out the car on arrival.. He has one job to come to the door, Lazy company will never use again! Furthermore this company never ask if you have allergies. 🤧”

“Loved ordering from here for ages. Last time I ordered they took the order wrong and wouldn’t refund, wouldn’t send through correct order and wanted the mistaken item back which was the strangest thing. If you make a mistake, own it. Not ordering again. Hong Kong kitchen is best Chinese in Hemel, enjoy!”
