  “Probably the best fish and chips in Cornwall (or even beyond). This small piece of heaven is tucked away between the local youth centre and a small housing estate so you might miss it so keep your eyes peeled. Lovely staff that will do anything to help but, please expect a short wait during busier times as it’s a very popular shop. Parking can be an issue during the busier times but you can usually find space just down the road and wonder up there.”

  “We have some very good fish and chip shops in Yorkshire and never bothered looking for fish and chips down here as we've bad some pretty ropey ones. We thought we'd try this chip shop as the review's look great and the reviews are right,lovely fish and chips,give then a try.”

  “First time in Cornwall today, needed something quick for dinner as I've been driving all day. Thought we'd check this place out as the reviews were good, well, I'm so glad we did. The cod was sooooo good! The chips were gorgeous! everything super fresh. The service was friendly and quick! We would be here every week if we were local! Could you please send some tips to the Norfolk chippies ;-)”

  “Living in Canada now but originally being from Hayle, I look forward to my trips back to Hayle every two years or so. High Lanes fish and Chips are always a high spot ! Great service and great food that Canada can only dream of . Keep it up.”

  “We come here every time we come to Hayle.. that's a lie.. we even travel just to come to this fish and chip shop.. One of the best in the country, absolutely amazing staff, food even better (somehow).. cod is fresh, flaky but moist and don't even get me started on the battered burger! Always a perfect end to a day. Prices are spot on. I'd even say to put them up as it's genuinely worth it given quality, taste and staff. Really do love this place and highly recommend it to anyone in the area or a 100mile radius 🤣🤣”

  “Lovely Fish & Chips, the COD is amazing! The batter is perfect and the chips perfectly golden brown. If you are staying here on holiday take the extra 5 minutes to come here instead of the fish and chip shop on the holiday park. Its well worth it!”

  “We've just enjoyed fish and chips from here and it was superb. The cod had a beautiful flavour and texture with a tasty batter and the chips were perfect with a slight crunch on the outside and soft inside. The portion size was ideal and represented good value for money. There were 3 ladies serving and all were very friendly, chatty and helpful. Great customer service! We'll be visiting again next time we're in Cornwall.”

  “No bad words to say at Highlanes chippy! The best chip shop in hayle or in fact anywhere, super fast at getting your order packed and sent. I always do a phone order, I arrive and it’s done super fast! Emma, Naomi and Ellie know our order off by heart at this point 🤣. Been going there for a very long time and they’ve never ever disappointed us. This is our go to and won’t go anywhere else. Highly recommend!! Make sure you check it out if you haven’t already. Such a lovely atmosphere. Their regulars are always looked after too, which is a bonus. You’ll never get amazing service like this anywhere else. ❤️❤️”

  “Absolutely amazing! Old school proper chippy chios wrapped in paper with proper chip shop curry sauce. Drove from St Ives to Hayle and it was definitely worth it. Nothing left like this in St Ives anymore. Freshly cooked to order, perfect crispy batter on the sausages and fish with the fish being perfectly moist and flakey. Lovely friendly staff too. They do a small, standard and large portion of chips, we ordered standard between 2 of us and there was more then plenty.”
