“Very mixed review but we all agreed that the chips seemed to be dry, and the fish had very little taste. So chips 1st would say they had a coating over them which probably led them to be very dry I'm not sure if it's a local way or if we were use to how we get the same meal in our area. Batter on the fish was nice not to thick and cooked well however the fish seemed to lack that fresh taste. All the food was pipeing hot and was cooked fresh when we ordered it. Staff were reasonably friendly and there is a seating area so you can wait for your order to be cooked. Gravy, Curry sauce and mushy peas were top class, excellent. Price to us was expensive. But could be reasonable locally 3 x fish and chips and 1 chips and gravy plus 3 more sauces. Pic of the receipt below. Parking was directly outside the shop as it has a long lay bye so no problems there. All in all if the chips and fish were as good as the sauces Lewys would have a real winner. If I was going to have anything from here it would be chips with curry sauce as the curry seem to accompany and help with the dryness of the chips.”

“I’m not exaggerating when I say that this has got to be the BEST chippy I have ever had - the four of us who ordered there all said the same. The chips are absolutely amazing. I broke my carnivore diet to try them as I saw they were cooked in dripping, and I went back the night after and had them again! Whenever I’m back down that area I’m making it an absolute must to go here.”
