Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the setting, a spot on the Hayle estuary where huge windows and outdoor tables put diners among wading birds, a heron and passing trains. Breakfast is close behind, with the cooked breakfast, bubble and squeak with spinach and hollandaise, and flat whites singled out. Flatbreads come up too, including Caribbean Chicken and Indian Lamb, along with the mezze, mussels and a seafood plank. Several mention dog-friendliness and healthy options, and one notes a loyalty scheme with free coffee. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and attentive, and one reviewer describes two team members arriving quickly with blue roll and replacing a spilled drink without hesitation. The main caveats are crowding and cost. One reviewer says it gets very busy, loud and first come first serve, so timing matters for a good table, and another says the food costs slightly more than a typical cafe. A third wishes the breakfast menu allowed substitutions instead of simply losing items, given the prices. Several walkers who arrived on the coastal path from Carbis Bay describe the stop as a refreshing one.

“Ok so this is special. If you like a good view while having breakfast come here. Friendly staff, great food on site parking it's pretty straightforward. To note might be better to coming early as it can get very busy and it's first come first serve so if you want a good table you need to time it right. It can also be very loud but you can go outside so you got options. Moderately priced. To me it's fair considering what you're getting. I advised checking the menu and judging for yourself. Great loyalty system offering free coffee to loyal customers! Overall to me I come here for special occasions like a birthday or celebrations of some sort. It's a great place well worth checking out ☺️”

“What a great find this place was. I saw it when I was travelling on the train from St Ives to St Erth. I had to Google to find out where it was. The bistro itself is really lovely inside and out. The menu and the food is fresh and a really good choice. It's a proper restaurant type kitchen not just like a cafe so the food is a very hight quality. The food costs slightly more than in a general cafe due to the quality and amount of food that you get. The thing that makes this place amazing is the huge windows and outside seating area. It's open with clear glass window screens and you are surrounded by the marsh area where all the water and wading birds come to. When the tide is right you feel like you are sitting in the middle of all the birds and if you are a twitcher/birder/photographer it's a great place to go. We will definitely be returning. I've already told a few people about this place as it's amazing”

“Myself, my husband and our little boy, who is 3, came to visit here quite randomly, and I have to say, I was absolutely blown away. The menu had such an amazing variety, with so many different options to choose from. I was particularly impressed by how many healthy choices there were too. The staff were attentive, caring and on top of everything that needed to be done. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and the service really added to the whole experience. The food was absolutely amazing, I honestly couldn’t fault a single thing. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite! I had the bubble and squeak with spinach and hollandaise sauce, while my husband had the classic breakfast. Everything was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented and full of flavour. The restaurant itself was clean, beautifully decorated and had such a lovely scenic view. We even got to see a heron flying around, which was such a lovely little bonus! The toilets were also spotless and had everything you could possibly need, and more. It was clear that every little detail had been thought about. We were so happy we decided to come here. It was honestly a real step up from other places we’ve visited for brunch or lunch, and we’ll definitely be coming back. A wonderful experience from start to finish, highly recommended!”

“Stopped by Birdies Bistro for breakfast 🐾 Super welcoming team and brilliant that they are so dog-friendly. The food was really delicious! Only feedback would be offering substitutions when swapping things off the breakfast menu—given the prices, it's always nice to swap rather than just lose items. Still a great spot and worth a visit if you're holidaying nearby!”

The food was absolutely delicious, and every dish was fresh and full of flavour. We especially loved the relaxing atmosphere and the beautiful surroundings, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. It’s one of those places you’ll want to come back to again. Highly recommended if you’re looking for great food, excellent service, and a lovely place to relax!”
