Quick info
About The Bucket of Blood
The Bucket of Blood is a pub in Hayle at 14 Churchtown Rd, with a low-beamed bar and a garden laid out on two tiers. Dogs are welcome, which suits anyone who wants to bring a pet along for a drink. The bar pours Korev, a local lager, alongside a selection of other lagers, ales and ciders. Table games, including Uno, are on hand for passing the time over a pint. The kitchen serves a new menu that differs from the one published online, so the listed dishes may not match what arrives at the table. Reservations are required for anyone who wants to eat. The low ceilings and the pub's history come up in conversation with the staff, who are happy to share the story behind the building.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the welcoming, friendly bar staff and landlord, and a couple mention being told the pub's history, including why the ceilings are so low. Close behind is the atmosphere of a lovely, characterful Cornish pub, with dogs welcome and a nice beer garden. On the drinks side, one reviewer enjoyed the local lager Korev, and others praise the choice of lager, ale and cider. Food earns mostly warm comments, with steak and chips called tasty and plentiful, and meals described as hot, fresh and reasonably priced. The main complaint comes from one diner who found the spice bag and nachos cold, slapped together and oddly flavoured, and who reports feeling ill that evening, though that reviewer still called the staff cheerful and kind. One notes there are no desserts, and one suggests booking to secure a table for eating. Families and groups appear too, with a game of uno praised for keeping phones away, and one family thanked staff for keeping the kitchen open for their two hungry children.
