About Kenton Lane Café

Kenton Lane Café is a cafe in Harrow, at 237 Kenton Ln, serving British breakfast with an Indian twist. Breakfast and brunch run until 4pm every day, so anyone arriving mid-afternoon can still order from the morning menu. Traditional British breakfast sits beside masala and Hinglish breakfasts, which gives the kitchen a way to blend the two styles on one plate. A spicy hash brown and beans comes with freshly made breads. Later in the day the menu moves to Bombay sandwiches, jacket potatoes and omelettes, and there are bean and soya burgers too. Masala chai is available as a drink. Chilli sauce is kept on the table for anyone who wants extra heat.

Customer Review Summary

Masala chai is the drink reviewers raise most, called fiery and sweet by one and simply great by another, and it anchors a breakfast menu that blends British and Indian cooking. Close behind are the Bombay sandwiches, the Hinglish breakfast with its desi spices, the bean burger with peri peri chips, and the Full English, with one diner asking for crispy bacon and getting exactly that. Several praise the friendly, attentive service and the owner's personal care, and a few mention generous portions and a very clean room. Complaints are smaller but specific. One reviewer says plates and portions have shrunk over the years, another found the masala bean toasty too cheesy and the swapped-in salad mostly lettuce, and one describes the room as noisy enough to overhear other tables during a quiet breakfast. One group found the food too spicy, and the owner noticed they were struggling without being told and quickly put it right.

“Great food and service, always reliably good, but plates and portions have got smaller over the years. Chilli sauce on the table is superb. Very clean.”

“I’ve been coming to Kenton Lane Cafe for years, and it’s easily one of my favourite breakfast spots in Harrow. What makes it special is the perfect combination of a traditional British breakfast with an Indian twist. The food is always fresh, full of flavour, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. The menu has something for everyone, from Full English breakfasts and delicious masala breakfasts to freshly made sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes, omelettes, masala chips, vegan wraps and avocado on toast. Everything I’ve tried has been consistently excellent. The staff are always welcoming and the service is friendly, making it a great place whether you’re dining in or grabbing something to take away. If you’re looking for a cafe that offers high-quality food with a unique twist, I can’t recommend Kenton Lane Cafe enough. It’s my regular place for breakfast and lunch, and it never disappoints. Definitely a well-deserved 4 star!!!”

“My friends recommended we go to the Kenton Lane Cafe for brunch and it was an excellent choice. The food was delicious, the portion size for my meal was very generous and the owners were incredibly welcoming, attentive and caring. I will certainly be back when I am up in London again!”

“Generally good, can be quite noisy at times, so expect to hear other people's conversations while you try and enjoy a quiet breakfast. Some people don't understand that it's a restaurant and not a Pub !!!”
