About ITJL Colindale Station

Halal options run right across the menu at ITJL Colindale Station, a cafe on Charcot Rd in London, so a table can order anything from the chicken cheeseburger with curly fries to the breakfast plates. Mornings bring scrambled eggs, salmon, avocado and spicy eggs with toast, while the sweet side covers pancakes with cream and fruit alongside Belgian waffles and cheesecake. Hot and iced drinks stretch from matcha and hot chocolate to iced caramel lattes and oat flat whites. The kitchen also boxes food up for anyone eating off site. It opens daily, and booking ahead is advised. Outdoor seating gives an option for dining in the open air, high chairs make room for families with young children, and a step-free entrance serves visitors with mobility needs. Dogs are welcome alongside their owners. This is the Colindale branch, sitting close to the station.

Customer Review Summary

Burgers anchor the positive accounts here, from the chicken cheeseburger and the chicken burger with fresh avocado to a returning customer who simply calls the burgers delicious. Close behind come the sweet plates: one reviewer rates the cheesecake, apparently baked in house by the owner, among the best they have had, while others single out the Belgian waffle and pancakes. Curly fries, jalapeño cheesy balls, omelettes with oat flat whites and the breakfast of salmon and scrambled eggs also draw praise, along with the range of halal options and the value; one visitor suggests adding the spicy sauce. Counter service, though, generates repeated and detailed complaints. A parent describes a kids' beef burger returned with the sauce only scraped off, then the bill arriving mid-meal as chairs went up on neighbouring tables. Another recounts being refused the matcha they had always had with the lunch deal, denied a refund, and served coffee instead. One reviewer reports a smell of old cooking oil inside and standing unacknowledged at the counter.

“Smells horrible inside, like they use the oil and then sprinkle it all over the cafe. Food is mediocre at best, made with cheap ingredients. Sainsbury sandwich around the corner tastes genuinely better. And service is just below all standards, sometimes you will stand there for 10 minutes, they will see you but won't even say hi or at least hint that they'll serve you soon.”

“I had an amazing meal at ITJL Colindale! Their chicken wrap was delicious, the curly fries were perfectly crispy 🍟, and the chicken cheeseburger was fantastic. To top it off, the Belgian waffle and pancakes were the perfect sweet ending 🧇🥞. Highly recommend this spot!”

“absolutely appalling, my son enjoys coming here and wanted to have his dinner. ordered from the menu a “kids beef burger” specified that it was plain with cheese- no reference to sauce. i reemphasised that i wanted it plain and no cheese. also kept asking if i wanted it as a takeaway? (for no good reason despite saying eat in) came with sauce, kindly requested for this to be changed and he argued that it comes with sauce even when you ask for “plain”, he just returned the same burger with the sauce scraped off, had to ask again for it to be remade and he was visibly frustrated which wasn’t appreciated. it was then served in a takeaway box, rushing us out as if we hadn’t ordered to eat in. in the middle of my son eating he presents me with the bill, saying they’re closing at 8pm even though shops meant to be open till ten as listed on their door and on google. won’t be returning. don’t recommend. they also began putting chairs on tables next to us, quite disrespectful if you ask me. told me he has an appointment to get to so he’s shutting the store. other staff present though 😂😂”

“Amazing food for great value, staff was so friendly and helpful, will definitely be back!”

“Went in the afternoon for the lunch special, my friend and I always get burger and matcha for £6.49. The man that was serving us, refused to serve us matcha because he said it’s not in the deal. After explaining to him that we always get the matcha he started complaining that he changed the price from £7 to £6.49 that’s why he can’t serve us the matcha. We explained to him that we’ve been coming here for over a year and we always paid the same price with the matcha. He became very rude and aggressive, telling us that he’s the boss and he will not serve us the matcha. In the end, we said we no longer wanted the order and asked for our money back - but he refused and said I will not loose money since they already started making our order. Still he made the order wrong and made a disgusting coffee instead of the matcha I ordered, because he said it was too expensive. He is the man in the red turban claiming to be the boss, and I think it’s absolutely disgusting that he’s willing to loose loyal customers over 50p. Safe to stay I will never be going there again!”
