  “Met a friend for breakfast here during the heatwave. Beautiful planting around the seating area, creates a lovely enclosed atmosphere. Large parasols created a lot of shade, so it was very comfortable despite the high temperature. Attentive staff, lovely fresh food. Will be back for sure!”

  “This place never disappoints! Prices are slightly on the higher side..Passion fruit Mango smoothie is a must try! Fantastic vibe, kid friendly place. Toppings can be a bit generous, I had the Hummus avocado waffle and it didn’t have enough saucyness! Other than that everything is perfect! Best time to go would be 11:30 cz then you can try their breakfast and Lunch menu!!”

  “Great food, cozy vibes and good service. Hollie was very sweet and attentive, we got a hummus and avocado waffle, the cheddar and garlic waffle, and the banoffee waffle for dessert. They were all good and well balanced. Hollie had a lovely chat with us and we are looking forward to coming again.”

  “Food and coffee was delicious! It has many floors and rooms with big tables as seating. Plenty of outdoor seating too with cover. Really clean toilets and lovely decor with lots of plants. Menu items are really good, plenty of vegeterian and child friendly options.”

  “I recall back in 1978 people saying that the waffle house concept was a crazy idea doomed to failure. However all of these years later it is evident that this family run business is a tremendous success. The freshly cooked waffles are delicious. I loved the homemade lemonade too. The waffle desert was extremely yummy. You are given a very warm and friendly welcome by the manager who is very affable. All of the staff wizzing around seem very well drilled, friendly, unfussy and efficient. You tend to be addressed as ‘would you guys like’ rather than ‘would sir or madam like’, in slightly posh Harpenden, which is great. The food will appeal to young and old alike and the genuinely friendly welcome renders this place as an ideal venue for families too.”

  “I never know how to feel about savory waffles but these were absolutely exceptional. A little long wait, we were the first to enter at 9am yet the food still took 30 minutes which was a little disappointing but it was delicious when it arrived”

  “The service and environment are excellent, but the waffle was not as good as expected. I had my Fried chicken waffle but I don’t believe it’s fresh to order (it’s claimed in the menu and we double confirmed confirmed with the waiter) my waffle was over-cooked with bite taste and the chicken seemed refried as it’s dried and over cooked and not fresh, though they gave me another waffle for replacement but still not to my standard. Maybe got an over expectation due to the past good feedback, disappointed with the food but is still a good place for tea.”

  “Bringing waffles to a new level, really great food. The Elderflower Cooler drink was tasty however a bit sweet. The fried chicken waffle was delicious, with a crispy coating and flavourful sauce. I was pleasantly surprised with how light the waffles are, they accompanied the dish well. For dessert I had the Banana Flapjack flavour, which really did taste of flapjack! All round a lovely option with a relaxed atmosphere, would certainly recommend.”
