Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often praise the home-cooked food, with the Sunday roast and the pub lunches singled out repeatedly. Specific dishes include lamb chops, a steak and ale pie, a baked avocado, a vegetarian wellington and ham, egg and chips, while one reviewer says the cakes are fantastic and another that a son polished off the lemon tarte. Several note the portions are generous enough for a doggy bag and describe the prices as reasonable. The beer and wine are called good, and the setting gets mentions for an open fire, outdoor seating, a pool table and occasional live music. The landlord and landlady are repeatedly described as friendly and hardworking, and one reviewer says the menu changes daily. Reviewers say booking for food is recommended. The one lukewarm account came from a party of five who found the food pretty average, nothing to shout about. One reviewer says the landlord rearranged a fully booked evening to fit a group in later that night.

“We love this pub. Haven’t had a full lunch here yet , but the cakes are fantastic and food looks very good. We don’t live far away, and must come more often… Good selection of beers, pool table, village green, live music sometimes. The bathrooms are also very nice. Owners very diligent and friendly. They deserve to do well. Highly recommended.”
