Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly staff, with the home made food and the local real ales close behind. Several describe the welcome as warm and the pub as a no nonsense village local, and one mentions local musicians playing folk music on a Tuesday lunchtime. On the food, diners praise hearty, plentiful portions and an extensive menu, and one calls the cooking outstanding. The lasagna is named by one reviewer, whose partner felt it had a bit too much cheese, though they still enjoyed it. Reviewers also describe the beers as well kept and good quality, with a wide choice of local options. A few mention reasonable prices, plenty of parking and an outside sitting area. Several found the pub by chance while visiting the area, and two say they have returned or plan to. One reviewer was fitted in last minute for Sunday lunch and was grateful for the friendly staff.

“Stopped for a night near the Pub and decided to have an evening meal there. Great atmosphere mixed with some interesting real ales. The staff were really friendly and there was quite a buzz on a Friday evening, refreshingly not a snobby pub, we loved it , the food was as expected from a village pub and we enjoyed it.”

“A proper local village pub. I visited this hostelry whilst on holiday on a Tuesday lunchtime. A very friendly, welcoming pub with some fantastic ales kept in excellent condition, there were local musicians playing folk music which added to the great atmosphere, an old type pub just as they should be, no airs or graces but everything done well. Jolly good show 👍🍻”
