Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the beautifully presented, flavourful food across a four course menu, with the liver parfait, gazpacho, venison and roast potatoes named most specifically. One diner says the parfait matches any they have had, another calls the venison wonderfully tender and beautifully salted, and the gazpacho is described as a lovely refreshing start. Close behind are the friendly, knowledgeable staff and the wine list, with a local wine singled out as a real standout. The outdoor seating and garden in Shere are repeatedly mentioned too, and one reviewer gives a special mention to the mock cocktails. The main reservations concern value and choice. One reviewer finds the portions small when served individually and notes that vegetables are extra, and another misses a craft beer option. Several came to celebrate birthdays or an anniversary. One says the staff arranged a very private table for a birthday meal, and another met the passionate chef at the end of the evening.

“My wife and I wanted to book somewhere really nice to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Kinghams in the picturesque village of Shere in Surrey turned out a good choice. Good menu and really delicious food that was well presented. The wine list offered some great choices. Service was good. A quiet lunchtime in the restaurant on a sunny summer saturday with lots of space inside and out. Great garden with plants and water feature. Would make a good choice for all special occasions.”

“Great food and wonderful atmosphere sitting outside with nearby church bells ringing beats canned musac anytime. 4 lighter/smaller courses work very well, especially when each course is so tasty, wonderfully cooked and prepared. The gazpacho was super tasty and a lovely refreshing start to the meal. The venison was wonderfully tender and just beautifully salted to bring out the flavour. Excellent chef and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Small car park behind the resturant but parking also on the road. Expect about £100 per head including tip. Refined but not stuffy. Very comprehensive wine list. No real craft beer choices though (1st world issue eh🙄). Recommend, we will be back.”
