Customer Review Summary
The set menus draw the most mentions, including the Asia Experience with black cod and beef fillet, a Valentines Experience menu, and a birthday set menu that one group called excellent value. Close behind are the small plates, with reviewers naming prawn dumplings, pork gyoza, bao buns and gochujang chicken, plus sushi and the nasi goreng rice. The Sakura Lychee Martini is singled out among the cocktails, and one bartender is praised for the drinks. Several describe attentive waiters and stunning decor, and one reviewer advises asking staff to space out the courses on the set menu. The main caveat comes from a two-star account of the set menu: tempura prawns, a few noodles with meat that cost extra, bland side rice and vegetables, and portions judged very expensive. The same reviewer says a window table was refused as not clean while the room was almost empty. Another would not order the chilli noodles again. Celebrations recur, and diners mention a free birthday treat and an instax photo as welcome surprises.

“What a wonderful lunchtime meal my partner and I enjoyed at The Asia Ivy today.. We selected the 'Asia Experience' set menu and selected the black cod and beef fillet main course option... Brilliant courses of deliciously cooked food and served well from the kitchen... I DID ask the staff to slow down with delivery of the courses ... My advice is - make sure you savour this wonderful set meal Experience by asking the staff to ensure courses are prepared and served appropriately with little breaks in between ....”

“I have been to ivy asia before in other branches but this time the experience wasn't very good: We wanted a table by the window and despite the restaurant was almost empty waiter said "oh, I dont think that one is clean". (All looked clean?) We took another one but it felt still he didn't want to seat us there. It felt to me they wanted to seat customers one next to the other. Food wasn't bad but not great: We had this set menu and I ended feeling cheated: some tempura prawns you can eat in almost any chinese restaurant, a few noddles with meat that cost an extra. That was a main dish. Side rice and veggies was bland, tasteless. 2 pounds for some wanton. Desserts seemed basic so didnt order. Cocktails I liked. Very expensive for the portions received.”

“We had a fantastic birthday celebration! My friends and I have made it a yearly tradition to celebrate our birthdays at The Ivy, and this year we decided to visit The Ivy Asia. We had to reschedule our booking twice, but the restaurant was incredibly accommodating throughout. We were greeted by the lovely Matteo, who is an exceptional waiter. His friendly and attentive service made our afternoon even more enjoyable. The food was delicious, we chose the set menu, which was excellent value for money. The portions were the perfect size and every dish was beautifully presented and served with elegance. You have to try the strawberry ice cream with the doughnuts, this was highly recommended by Matteo absolutely delicious! We also received a lovely birthday treat, which was the perfect finishing touch to our celebration. As always, The Ivy in Guildford never disappoints. Another wonderful birthday celebration, and we can't wait to return!”

“Very good experience. Small plates were the indicator it was going to be good. We got the pork gyoza, bao buns and gochuchang chicken. Then for mains pork belly and beef. The nasi goreng rice was nice. I wouldn’t get the chilli noodles again. A must try if you’re in Guildford”
