  “Absolutely beat all expectations when we nipped in for food. Returning to Glossop after moving away years ago, my partner and I were having a wonder round the town and as hunger got the better of us I saw the updated Oakwood, which I had not been in for many many years. The menu read well and it looked well inside. The staff were friendly and we were seated quickly, with service following shortly after that. The food, above all else, was absolutely fantastic and given the reasonable cost also we were very pleasantly surprised. This is now definitely our choice for food any time we are back over Glossop way. Could not recommend it more!”

  “the food was absolutely amazing! the service was quick and the staff were lovely. Food is a bit pricey but so is everywhere these days, I'll definitely go back again for the delicious food and lovely atmosphere!”

  “Lovely old pub with loads of character and open fires. The food was really good although somewhat unusual menue. Lots of vegetarian and lots of kids meals. The staff were patient, helpful and attentive.”

  “I spotted the Oakwood on the high street so browsed the menu and loved the diversity and concept of cuisines with a Great variety We Had a feast consisting of their famous tacos mine was tofu along with the vegan satay , mushroom wings and Vietnamese fries with Fast friendly service Can’t fault any dish and all Full of flavour Well thought through and enjoyed everything Plus Super Vegan friendly and had so many options with a separate menu too My mum and dad loved the surf and turf Overall a great lunch to see us through the afternoon and would return”

  “Nice quirky place, good food, lovely decor, very clean. Menu was plentiful and very tasty. Only draw back was even though we asked for more drinks, no one came to our table for over 30 minutes and we then decided to leave.”

  “Enjoyed lunch in the bar area as tables booked in Eating area. Food and Beverages really good. I had the Goats cheese salad with plain fries (fries hot and crunchy, just right). Other family. Members enjoyed Philly steak wraps with loaded fries. Friendly, polite staff. Good ales.. 😊😊.”

  “We hired the upstairs venue for a small baby shower this weekend and were blown away from the service provided at The Oakwood. The staff were absolutely fantastic! From helping us lug our decorations and gifts upstairs to setting up the sound system for us. Nothing was too much trouble. They had taken our food order a week before and everything came out correct, hot and fresh. The day ran so smoothly, thanks to the wonderful staff here. Thankyou!”

  “The Oakwood has a lovely atmosphere, I went with my daughter a couple of years ago and went back today, nothing has changed, tasty food, tacos to die for, this time we had a wrap there was too much sauce unfortunately which is why I have given 4 stars. Prices were very good. I would go back again.”

  “It was nice to see vegan options on the menu and lovely to see oyster mushrooms, rather than fake meats. How ever I feel the meals were very pricey compared to other pubs/restaurants close by. For example the vegan pizza was super basic but still cosy quite a but. It was also very busy and I felt like the staff were not very helpful/informative, Although could have been due to being so busy.”

  “What a wonderful random find! They have great veggie options (speaking as a non-veggie, they all sounded - and tasted - really appealing!), and not your usual boring options either! I tried the southern fried oyster mushrooms and Vietnamese fries - the former was satisfyingly crunchy outside and juicy inside, while the latter punched quite a spicy kick from the sriracha but was nonetheless delicious.”
