Customer Review Summary

Coffee draws the most mentions, with reviewers singling out iced caramel lattes as smooth and full of flavour, a fantastic cappuccino, and coffee paired with home baking. Pancakes and French toast come close behind, with kids among their fans. A Philly steak and cheese, a baked potato with Cajun chicken and jalapeños, and sourdough with avocado and poached eggs also earn praise, along with hearty portions. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and welcoming. The complaints centre on the soup and pastry. One reviewer likened the minestrone to peeled canned tomatoes mixed with HP sauce and described a black pudding and bacon tart with watery egg and cheap pastry. Another asked for minestrone and got tomato soup with pasta on top, plus a dry sandwich with no butter. One reviewer suggests booking ahead because it gets busy. Some regulars come in weekly for breakfast, and others pick up takeaway rolls, soups and salads.

“Trading on its reputation as the significant age of (very positive) reviews suggests. Clearly taken optimisation of cost controls too far…minestrone soup like peeled canned tomatoes mixed with HP sauce, black pudding and bacon tart - watery egg, traces of black pudding and bacon cheap pastry - very low quality industrially produced - most likely frozen “Homemade” tart, pretty small, £8.95. Strangely, for such mediocre expensive fare, staffing levels seem excessive (5-6 servers!?). Fewer staff serving more honest fare would be welcome. Won’t be back.”

“Delish is my favourite local for lunch or brunch. The food is consistently good, the staff are really welcoming and in my opinion, it's pretty good value for money. They also do great take-away, rolls, soups and salads. My kids love it too. They love the pancakes and French toast! Special mention to Pauline, Angela and Michelle, who are fabulous and always make you feel welcome. It can get busy so book ahead to avoid disappointment. A real local gem that I take all my mates to for catch ups.”
