Customer Review Summary

Pizza draws the most praise, from the Scozesse pizza to a gluten-free one a diner calls the best they have had, and a six-year-old who returns for pizza and ice cream. Close behind are pasta, including the Italiano, a light pate served with toast instead of oatcakes, and a whisky sour one diner rates among the best. A filling Scottish breakfast and pancakes in caramel sauce also get mentions. Reviewers call the decor beautiful and describe birthday and anniversary celebrations in the private dining room. Service is called friendly, yet some describe slow evenings, a cocktail that never arrived, and a bill brought when another drink was ordered, later offset by a free drink. Two lower reviews call a starter and dessert awful, find only a few tiny pieces of chicken in pasta, and say the glasses were not clean. Diners also note huge portions, with leftover pizza and other food boxed to take home.

“We’ve been coming to La Vita for years and it’s always one of our favourite local restaurants. The food is always delicious, the prices are really reasonable and the service is top class. Our 6-year-old especially loves coming for the pizza and ice cream! It’s lovely having such a great restaurant on our doorstep.”

“Randomly found this place on our way into Glasgow and needing somewhere to eat. SO pleased we found it. Such a lovely restaurant, amazing decor, and the food was incredible. All five of us really enjoyed our meals, and my GF pizza was probably the best I’ve ever had. Staff were great too. Highly recommend.”

“We recently had the pleasure of enjoying a private dining experience in Julietas at La Vita Barrachnie, and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The private dining room was beautifully presented, creating the perfect atmosphere for a 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. The food was outstanding – every course was fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully prepared. The service was exceptional too; the staff were attentive, friendly, and couldn’t do enough to make sure everyone had a wonderful time. A special thank you to Francesco for making the occasion feel so special. Nothing was too much trouble, and every detail was taken care of with genuine care and professionalism. If you’re looking for a venue for a family celebration, birthday, or special event, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Julietas at La Vita Barrachnie. We all had an amazing experience and can’t wait to return.”

“Food and service not up to usual standard. Really disappointed. Starter and dessert were awful. Main course was good. We ordered another drink but got the bill instead even though we had not asked for it. They did redeem this by giving us a free drink but the service was very slow all evening. They seemed to be more interested in pleasing regulars rather than all the customers there.”

“We had a birthday party in the private dining room. It had a beautiful set up and the food was delicious. They certainly don't scrimp on portion size even for a set menu(a few boxes were provided to be taken home with food that couldn't be finished). Special menus were given for the children that kept them amused for a good while. The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us (especially Francesco and the girl who kept calling one of the kids "your highness" as she was dressed as a disney princess.) Quite a few staff were in to sing happy birthday also which was a lovely touch. This was our first time using the private dining room, the red carpet outside and the velvet rope were a lovely touch. It was great that it was all on the one level with no steps so fully accessible. Just a pity the weather did not allow us to use the patio furniture more than we did. It did get a bit warm inside the room with so many people though, that was possibly the only negative about the whole night (maybe fans could be provided to cool the air as we couldn't keep the door open to let in a breeze). Great night, delicious food and fabulous staff - what more can you ask for?”
