Customer Review Summary
Penne dishes come up most, with one reviewer praising the Penne Del' Amore and another the penne arrabiata. Close behind are mozzarella sticks, haggis bonbons, pizza and spaghetti. Others single out the mussels, the seafood pasta, the garlic and rosemary focaccia, and a steak and sole dinner, with reviewers describing huge portions and food served hot. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, and the early evening and lunch menus are described as good value. The strawberry daiquiri and the wine also earn praise. The complaints are specific. One reviewer had two pizzas delivered ice cold, along with a minestrone they called disgusting and three haggis bonbons served with a garlic dip instead of the peppercorn sauce. Another phoned ahead and was told food was still being served, then arrived to a closed kitchen. A staff member let them order one main, and they called the manager a grump.

“The food was amazing. I called 40 minutes before their closing time while walking over and confirmed they would still be serving food. I arrived around ten minutes later and was told their kitchen was closed, but the "nice" man let me order a main before they closed. The rest of the staff was wonderful, but the manager is a grump.”

“Once again my wife and I experienced the most amazing meal in Amore Dennistoun: starters were superb and the main course of steak for myself and sole in a butter sauce for my wife were both done to perfection, served up with a wonderful selection of vegetables. Vino was excellent and service first-class. I highly recommend this restaurant for casual or formal dining.”

“We love a wee trip to Amore. The Penne Del’ Amore is particularly good as is the garlic and rosemary focaccia. Support your local restaurant :-)”

“Booked a table here for a midweek meal as my son has just moved into the area. A good number of people dropping in even though it was midweek in the middle of January. Service was great and staff are lovely. We were a party of five and had a few starters to share and a main course each. 1 bottle of wine for the table and a couple of beers. Skipped desserts as we were all stuffed. Portions are great, food was delicious and served hot which I love. Definitely will be back as soon as many options I’d like to try. Recommend.”

“So, so bad…. Two pizzas delivered ice cold. Disgusting minestrone soup and a portion of 3 miserable haggis Bon Bon’s - supposed to come with peppercorn sauce but apparently too lazy for that so had a garlic dip chucked in instead, just disgusting. Haggis was over 8 quid?! Seriously… such a shame that there’s just zero standards now and places are happy to put out such trash.”
