Customer Review Summary

Breakfast draws most reviewers, with the eggs Benedict named most often, its eggs described as poached properly and its flavors as lovely. French toast, Stornoway Black Pudding, salmon and potato scones also get mentions, alongside coffee called excellent. Staff come across as friendly, helpful and welcoming in most accounts, and several note the food arriving without a long wait. The room spreads across three levels, with upper floors overlooking the restaurant and kitchen below. The complaints are smaller but specific. One diner says service dropped off after the food arrived, with water never reaching the table, which put them off ordering dessert. Another found the first floor warm under a low ceiling and the Tuscan sausage cut into large square slices. Others mention tables set close together, few vegetarian choices, a crunchy toast under the Benedict, and French toast that needed more time soaking in egg. Homemade cakes are praised, and one reviewer says the desserts were bigger than their head.

“Opted for the Tuscan sausage. It was very good, but could have been better if cut into smaller pieces instead of large square slices. We were on the first floor. It was a warm evening and, as the ceiling is quite low, it was quite warm up there. May have been cooler on the ground floor. Service was exceptional.”

“The food was good, I had the penne Matteo, we didn't have to wait too long for our food to arrive, but after that the service became scarce, not sure if it was due to them being busy, as our table water didn't show and that put me off ordering dessert as I didn't know if the waitress was going to disappear again after taking so long to catch their eyes for attention.”

“That restaurant was super cozy and inviting. The servers were awesome to us, and they even have a dinner special to help you save some cash. The portions were huge, and their homemade cakes were seriously good. I'd totally recommend it and I'm definitely going back.”
