About Leo’s Bearsden
Brunch and breakfast drive the day at Leo’s Bearsden, a coffee shop on Drymen Rd in Bearsden. Turkish eggs headline that menu and give the kitchen the plate regulars come back for, with pancakes ordered alongside them. Coffee runs through the whole service, and the counter will make it decaf on request. Tables work on a walk-in basis rather than reservations, so you order and settle in as you arrive. Dogs are welcome to join you when you eat in, and high chairs mean families with young children can sit down for the same brunch. The doors open daily.

Customer Review Summary
The negatives are more specific. One diner says the Eggs Stornoway did not contain real Stornoway black pudding, calling the menu description misleading. Another reports being told the kitchen had closed at 4pm after sitting down around 3:20, twice. Others describe a dry breakfast ciabatta, scones that tasted dry and wholesale-bought, a dilute lentil soup, and bacon and waffles drowned in maple syrup, with a suggestion to serve it on the side. One asked for decaf and got what they called brown hot water.

“Request for de-cafinated coffee taken to the extreme, brown hot water was the result. Lentil soup was very dilute (more like a consume) with minimal flavour. Fresh herbs and oil in the soup did not improve the outcome. Bacon and waffles were good but spoiled by huge amounts of maple syrup making it overly sweet. Syrup on the side to be poured by the customer would improve things dramatically (two customers had the same dish and the same opinion). At almost £40 for three people (with only two drinks), was distinctly unimpressed.”

“Leo’s is definitely a jewel in Bearsden’s crown. The food is fantastic, the Turkish eggs and pancakes are a firm favourite of ours. They’re always really accommodating of our young daughter and dog when we dine in too. Great place and lovely staff.”

“We’ve been coming to Leo’s for a few years now and honestly can’t recommend it highly enough. The food is consistently amazing, the drinks are fantastic, and the atmosphere always feels warm, relaxed, and welcoming. What really makes the place special though is the staff — everyone is so friendly, attentive, and genuinely lovely every single time we visit. It’s become one of our favourite spots in Bearsden. Special mention has to go to the Turkish eggs which are absolutely divine — genuinely one of the best brunch dishes we’ve had anywhere. It’s also incredibly pet and child friendly, which makes such a difference for us as a family. We regularly bring our toddler daughter and our dog Luna with us and have always felt completely welcome and accommodated with no issues at all. A brilliant local business that deserves all the success it gets.”

“Brunch at Leo’s was generally pleasant — nice atmosphere, good presentation, and attentive staff. That said, I ordered Eggs Stornoway because I was genuinely looking forward to Stornoway black pudding, which is a favourite of mine. Sadly, it wasn’t Stornoway black pudding at all. The restaurant cannot name Stornoway on the menu, then serving a different product under that description. It feel extremely misleading. If you know Stornoway black pudding, the difference is unmistakable. It was disappointing, and it took away from what could otherwise have been a great brunch. I’d strongly suggest either using the real product or renaming the dish to avoid setting incorrect expectations.”

“Went in for coffee etc. the only pastry/ baking that did not look wholesaler bought was the scones. Tastless dry like the ones from the big catering packs you get in bookers (just add water). The decor etc is from the orevious cafe. I had not been here for a year (December 2024 i think) and it has not improved, probably worse.”
