About Christine’s on the Green
Christine's on the Green is a coffee shop and cafe on Main St in Glasgow, sitting beside the park with large windows that look out over the green, which makes it a stop for people heading to or from it. Coffee anchors the offering, with espresso drinks including flat whites and flavoured lattes, and the kitchen serves a full breakfast that can be ordered alongside one. Lighter options run through toasties, ciabatta sandwiches, scones, chips and ice cream. Orders are taken at the table and brought over, and no booking is needed. Food platters can be arranged in advance for birthdays and other occasions, with collection sorted at the counter. A step-free entrance keeps the room reachable for visitors with mobility needs, high chairs suit families with young children, dogs are welcome, and outdoor seating gives the option of eating in the open air. Doors open daily, and customer toilets are on the premises.

Customer Review Summary
Coffee draws the most consistent praise, described as smooth, aromatic and clearly made with quality beans, with a pistachio latte singled out as delicious. Close behind sits breakfast, where several describe the full breakfast as generous and delicious, and one points to a ciabatta with honey chilli chicken as lovely and reasonably priced. Regulars repeatedly credit warm, friendly staff, including being remembered between visits, and one customer recounts ordering food platters for a child's birthday and receiving a birthday cake unprompted. The dissent is substantial and specific. A few report poor value and small portions, naming thin toastie fillings, a side salad that was not fresh, chips served as a side rather than a portion, and unusually small scoops of ice cream. Another blames loud music for a misheard order, missing teaspoons and condiments, and reports a spot of blue mould on a scone, replaced with a croissant but with no further gesture offered.

“Third time in. Still not one good experience with quality and quantity of food and coffee. Hard not to expect much better when paying so much. Today it was nearly £12 for 1 flat white and 2 of the smallest scoops of ice cream I’ve ever bought.”

“This cafe has always been used by us due to how close it is to the park but this what I was charged £23.80, 2 toasties and I asked for a large portion of chips but she just added them as a side to the toastie in the same box. Had to ask for an actual portion and she just moved into their own wee box. Felt there was no point in asking for anymore with the attitude. Really disappointed in the toastie too, hardly any filling and side salad that wasn’t fresh.”

“Cafe was warm and welcoming, and staff were very friendly. The food was lovely (ciabatta with honey chilli chicken) and reasonably priced. The pistachio latte was delicious too 😋 We will be back.”

“My daughter asked politely to use the toilet for her little boy (toilet-trying.). The staff were so inhospitable! - not a good advert for Scotland. Not a good policy to alienate customers this way. They would have had our whole family’s custom for many future visits if this had not happened. We will not be back. Being kind costs nothing.”

“The good news first, lovely staff and toilets. Bad news, music is too loud making it hard to have a conversation indeed the staff obviously didn’t hear our order as we were served 2 regular coffees when we wanted 2 small and one was to be decaf as well. No condiments on the table, no teaspoons on saucer and to cap it all my wife’s scone had a spot of blue mould on it. Admittedly they replaced it with a croissant but we weren’t offered any compensation either money back or perhaps a cake to share. Need to up their game.”
