About Elois Cafe

On Queen Margaret Drive, Elois Cafe is a coffee shop run by a married couple who own and operate the business. The menu leans on homemade Albanian and Greek cakes alongside savoury crepes, which can also be served in ciabatta form, with options like the Spicy Chicken and Steak Onion and Pepper crepe. Breakfasts include an egg and sausage plate and a salmon breakfast, and the coffee list runs to a flat white. The cafe opens daily, and reservations are recommended for a table. A step-free, wheelchair-accessible entrance means visitors with mobility needs can enter without difficulty. The cafe sits on Queen Margaret Drive near the Botanics.

Customer Review Summary

The savoury crepes draw the most attention, with reviewers repeatedly calling out the spicy chicken crepe, the steak onion and pepper crepe, and the Parma crepe as standouts, all described as fresh and well filled. Close behind is the coffee, praised repeatedly as smooth, creamy, and among the best reviewers have had, alongside breakfasts like the Italian sausages and a breakfast salmon plate. The homemade cakes, including Albanian and Greek varieties, and a sausage roll with egg also get singled out. Service is described consistently as friendly and relaxed, with the owners running things personally, and one reviewer notes a sandwich issue was corrected quickly. One reviewer reports being served a toasted soft roll and sausage and egg after asking for crispy rolls and left disappointed. Several describe returning more than once, and one recalls being handed a coffee to take away after finishing the meal.

  • Debbie Murray
“First time in Elois cafe and it certainly won’t be our last. I had Steak onion and pepper savoury crepe, my husband had the same in Ciabatta. My crepe was perfectly cooked and there was plenty of steak, the onions and peppers were caramelised and the whole thing was delicious. Husband said his was excellent also. I think he may have been a little jealous as after I gave him a taste of mine he immediately started talking about having it next time we are in . Guys are friendly and the service is relaxed and it’s nice to not feel rushed. Would highly recommend from this experience.”
