About Peggy’s
On Maryhill Road in Glasgow, Peggy's is a Chinese takeaway serving the neighbourhood in the evenings, Wednesday to Sunday, with no service on Mondays or Tuesdays. Orders are placed on a walk-in basis rather than by reservation. The menu runs through familiar takeaway staples, with chicken chow mein, salt and chilli chips, and pancake rolls, including a pork version and a Thai-style option served with sweet chilli sauce, among the regular orders. Spring rolls, curry sauce, and satay sauce also feature, alongside chicken fried rice. Duck in plum sauce is on the menu for those wanting something beyond the usual order. Delivery is available for anyone eating off site, extending the takeaway's reach beyond those able to collect in person.

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers return for generous portions of tasty food, with one diner singling out the salt and chilli chips and the chicken chow mein. Close behind are the crispy pork pancake rolls and the satay sauce, which another reviewer calls a standout, and quick delivery comes up repeatedly alongside friendly phone and driver contact. One reviewer found the pancake rolls carried a slight curry flavour and plans to try the Thai version with sweet chilli sauce next time. The complaints are specific. One diner received spring rolls with burnt pastry and no bean sprouts, plus chicken balls with lumps of floury batter. Another found the chicken fried rice tasteless, with hard, overcooked chips. A third ordered duck in plum sauce and got duck in sweet and sour sauce with pineapple, which they describe as mostly skin. A reviewer who had long rated the curry sauce highly stopped ordering after it turned strongly smoky. Still, one large order came with free extra food.

“Really tasty good food quickly delivered. I also ordered 2 pancake rolls, and did not realise it has a curry flavour on the slight side throughout it. Not a curry fan. I see they have the Thai pancake rolls with a sweet chilli sauce also. Which I will get next time. Great food. Super takeaway.”

“HUGE portion sizes, free food because we bought so much stuff, dare I say the best chicken chow mein I've ever had and the salt and chilli chips are genuinely beyond this world. the delivery man was really nice and the lady I ordered with on the phone was also really kind. I definitely recommend this place.”

“First and last try, ordered spring rolls and not a bean sprout in sight, dark over spiced meat of some description and carrots, overcooked too, pastry dark and burnt in spots, chicken balls were overdosed with batter and big lumps of stodgy floury batter....we try and we learn...!!”

“I ordered duck in plum sauce, I received duck in sweet and sour sauce with pineapple, it was impossible to eat so I rinsed the sauces to see what was in the package and I saw that it was only skin and pineapple 🤣 I do not recommend this dish.”
