Customer Review Summary

The decor is what reviewers raise most, calling it gorgeous, beautiful and unique, and pairing it with a relaxed atmosphere. Food comes close behind: diners single out the homemade tiramisu, the pastrami focaccia sandwich, mushroom soup with sourdough, smoked salmon on toast with egg, and bolognaise with chilli chips, with generous portions and skin on fries also mentioned. Coffee gets praise too, one reviewer calling a caramel latte smooth and not too bitter and another calling the coffee perfect for a coffee snob. Service splits the reviews. Several describe staff as friendly, polite and professional, yet three describe the opposite: staff who seemed uninterested and impolite, a waitress who gave a weird look when asked whether it was table service, and slow service for a coeliac diner whose gluten free meal arrived with bread. That reviewer also found the meals a little tepid, and another notes there is no licence for beer or wine. One family with a newborn was handed free freshly baked focaccia by the chef.

“First time visit here. Four of us ordered a selection of mains. Everything was delicious. Generous portion sizes as well. The interior decor is gorgeous and the place has a great atmosphere. The two staff who served us were attentive, polite and professional. Only downside is that they aren’t currently licensed so if you’re looking for a beer or a glass of wine with your lunch you’ll be disappointed. Overall though, this was a perfect experience and we’ll definitely be back. Try the Pastrami Focaccia sandwich. 👌🏻”

“Ok so visited today mid day approximately. Nice decor etc. Service slow and my wife is Coeliac Gluten Free, took a few minutes to explain to the waiter and when meal brought of course comes with bread. Meals looked good, but a little tepid. Service truly poor ,big problem is the serving staffs inability to understand English”

“Lovely little spot. Two couples with a 18 month old and newborn very child friendly. Chef gave us free freshly baked focaccia which was absolutely delicious and the homemade tiramisu was also fabulous”

“We visited this café for breakfast, and while the food was good, the service really let the experience down. The staff seemed uninterested in serving us, didn’t speak politely, and lacked basic manners, which unfortunately spoiled our breakfast. We also felt uncomfortable because the staff kept talking while looking over at us, which gave the impression they were talking about us. Whether that was the case or not, it made us feel unwelcome. I would recommend that management has a conversation with the staff about how they should treat customers, as being polite and respectful can make a huge difference to the overall experience.”

“This was my 4th visit here today and as usual the food was spot on. I have tried something different each time and enjoyed everything. So much effort has gone into the decor and creating a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Finished off with great coffee I would highly recommend.”
